There's something delightfully maddening about the dissonance between this game's aesthetics and the content. The adorable pixel art, the game being so British that my inner narrator voice is David Attenborough, and of course how every character's reaction to thinking about how this sexual dystopia is 'this is normal and not weird'. Even characters you'd think would not be in on it like Eden and Robin. It's fascinating. It's like being able to peek into the wet dreams of the protagonist from Blanche DuBois or American McGee's Alice after they went into a permanent fugue state.

Eden is so great. Honestly, not that Stockholm-ish since it took all of two days for Eden to trust me, and you can deny sex if you choose, though I hate doing so. Eden is pretty nice and not at all wrong about how dangerous and generally shitty the town is.

Absolutely, Eden is one of the best fleshed out love interests and if it was not for my natural predisposition to harpies Eden would definitely be the best love interest in the game. How Eden can rescue you from Remy or the Asylum, and the valentine's event really go a long way to show how much they really care. 10/10 would hunt with

I can see that you may feel about Eden like that if you encounter them in the forest for the first time. But my character was sold into slavery to them, and her free spirit took none of that.

Birdbrain, another way that Degrees of Lewdity lives in my head rent-free is how every serious love interest in the game comes at some sort of cost. Kyler costs status and the ability to pursue other interests safely, Avery your sense of freedom and adulthood, Robin straight-up money, Sydney following (or cheating) the oppressive rules of the Temple, Black Wolf political struggles, etc. Even relatively pain-free waifus like Eden come at a cost of having to spend time with them and enduring an initial period of undignified behavior. I think this is one of the reasons why Alex isn't so popular. While not all LIs need to have some sort of dark edge to their relationship, the idea of a Love Interest that has no drawbacks in pursuing them just feels wrong in the context of this game. Like Alex is either cheating the system or is hiding something big.

Alex also isn't popular because of how much work you have to do to actually get with him. Those fields take forever to clear and his relationship is 100% the hardest to progress in.

I think people don't mention Alex because they are harder to romance than most LIs, and not everyone likes the farm's content.

Ah, yes, DoL. My favourite game where I commit multiple assault crimes a day defending myself from strangers and steal money to pay outrageously priced rent.

I think the recent updates added sore sort of lore with the “pale figure” makes blood moon scarier since you can get possessed and lose all control of your player

Wraith is the new toughest in the game at 900 health, but they're a good boy, they just need to be hugged. (and maybe give their necklace back) also if you simply don't go to sleep they can't possess you, praying in the church is a good way to pass the night

I just stumbled across this game yesterday and it's actually really good. There's so much customization. It's also a pretty dark game I'm on my first play through of the game and I've gotten almost eaten by a giant snake. Thrown into a snake pit. With those baby snakes stuck in my Chasity belt. Got them removed. Then bailey pretty much sells me. I didn't know how to make money so all my clothes are pretty much torn and gone. Found out how to make money by selling things I found in the forest. Then I proceeded to get kidnapped by Eden. Escaped somehow then got surrounded by a pack of wolves. They had their fun and my character made it out the Forrest broken. I was put in an insane asylum. Trying to figure out a way out but while I do that I'mma get my character swole! Imma fight everything.

Glad you enjoyed it, MGQ's music can be used safely without risk of copyright claims, so I tend to use it a lot. It will for sure get it's own video at some point.

Glad I could help! Most if it is just on the wiki, the folks there do a great job of documenting just about everything in the game If you want to minmax further you could also grind out masochism too for better pain tolerance, but that dose come with the risk of losing a couple turns due to nutting from it instead, but that is still preferable to maxing pain which doesn't go away after 3 turns. Characters also do vary in health pools, most are around 200, Bailey is 400 and the Stockholm trio of Eden, Wolf and Hawk are the toughest at 600.

The Great Hawk is defonatly the best. Strong wimgs with max history gives you the freedom to do what ever you want regardless of whether its a week day or not. Though I wish they didn't have to be so rough with thier talons at night though. :/

My obvious bias aside the bird transformation definitely gives the most utility of any of the transformations. Wolf or Cat is better for combat. The Great Hawk is super nice as a love interest, probably one that cares genuinely for you the most besides maybe Robin and Eden, the biggest downside is how far their house is from civilization. They were never too rough at night for me

Honestly after playing this game, I wish there was more Sydney content in it. There is a sex shop update coming up that includes their parent, but, you can't do anything with Sydney when you compare them to Eden or even Kylar at the moment. You can only corrupt them and go to church. At least with Kylar you get to go on a Halloween date with them and potentially do a prison break. As someone who 9/10 chooses Sydney and Eden as my main love interests it is quite painful to leave one partner out of literally any and all holiday events 😔

Sydney is the most recent LI compared to Eden who's had a long time to have content added for them. They should get more as time goes along, Kylar only their christmas event and prison break fairly recently. The game is still very much in development after all.

this game is truly excellent even outside of the lewd aspect - it's a legitimately fun, has great mechanical depth, and is a surprisingly well written life sim and it's only in the alpha stages. and the nsfw aspect of the game... let's just say the good writing also translates to the lewd scenes. such a shame it's so obscure, it's genuinely fantastic and addictive

Technically you could set the encounter rate to 0.0 and pick pure starting settings, then it becomes a normal RPG with an oppressive landlord and weirdly specific genitalia simulation.

So I saw this some, 2 - 3 years ago and found the concept intriguing. So far, been doing two characters and the story writes itself. The random event pitfalls add to the flavor, even had a 'redemption' storyline for my first character which made the progression interesting, but the fall added to their story. Playing a 'saintly' character has its own challenges and the eventual fall made the story interesting. But yeah, went through the Eden side plot and she's actually not bad. I've yet to explore the other routes, just figuring out how to do them and stick to the RP.

i remember my first time playing dol. i was watching someone stream in discord and they accidentally pulled up their dol game for a second, i saw the url and looked it up. i eventually got trapped in the eden cabin and got really frustrated and stopped playing for like a year

Thanks!, Yes the Halloween update was the prison, as well as some more fun around blood moons~ I started writing and recording shorty before the Sydney update came out but due to productions times it took until several weeks after Sydney's release before I actually got the video up...

Yoo great video. But did you know there's an active modding community for this game? **One of the most popular mods being a JoJo parody made by myself you should definitely beat Bailey's goons up with your Stand and Vampire Eye's Laser Beams**. Also, you can actually kill NPCs.

Did you know there’s quite a few mods for this game? One called DoL+ which adds and buffs a lot of stuff, some mods give new transformations or Love interest. There’s also a subreddit where players share their tips and tricks. There’s also a few mods with better graphics mods to spice up the pc sprites.

i think the 2 i like the most for love interests is the harpy and sydney

I know this may sound bizarre, but this game was odddly comforting for me. I found out about it in a random reddit post when I was so sick that I could not get out of bed because I was so high ans doozy with the antibiotics. Just seeing how pretty much every living thing could assault you was so funny to me. I was in so much pain but also laughing so much with the things that could happen.

If i ever get arrested again im super screwed. I checked my crime history and it's well into the 11k

you can start a decently long questline that lets you erase your crime history for like three hundred pounds, repeatedly. with a high skulduggery skill (dont remember the exact grade needed, check the wiki) you have a chance to discover a side door into the police station. when you enter check the computer - there's also a small chance to find a keycard that makes the side door appear every time you go on barb street - and go talk to landry to start the questline.

there's a lot of things you can do to avoid or get around these encounters - dress less provocatively, increase your physique or sexual skills to end encounters faster, explore to find more opportunities to get pepper spray, etc. i think there's also a setting that lets you lower the encounter rate - there should be an option to change settings mid-game when you enter one of your bedrooms.

The game is nice, and for instance I like to play it as much as I like testing every feature. Since I'm french, allow me however to maybe correct your last PC's title: in english "genital" can be used as a noun, but in french it's only an adjective. So you should say "le mangeur *d'appareil* génital", if what I assume what was the original meaning of it. Last but not least: Vrelnir seems to be really close to players, and takes feedback into account, I reached him by mail once, he even answered me (not sure if he would do it agains though) and I'm currently trying to write an up-to-date report on DoL which I will send him again. So if you have some suggestions for DoL, don't be afraid to send him. I think he's likely to find it useful.

Google translate has failed me yet again ;_; Sadly the only native French speaker I know is my grandmother and I couldn't really ask her for a translation in this case... Vrel's a real chill guy, I corresponded with him a bit while making the video and I do have some idea but I might see if I can learn the codebase and try and contribute some myself.

I love the Chuthlu elements and hoping to see how the plot will develop. I'm on my second run now (first run is to unlock achievements and I fucking fall from grace, turned myself from angel to succubus). Second run is gonna be angel only (of course still can pleasure people with non-vital body parts) and planning to go to the new island area to pick up the new artifact.

dol is a heavy wip there will be an end and shit but i feel this beta really encapsulates the true nature of the game when robbing a house you'll meet an ex robber he had a child so quit it and he explains the town has always been like this and he has to prepare his child to livei n this town it's a literal island with the prison being a smaller island for not soft bad ending are the only true end and have the time oyu can leave it's about a repeating cycle because of course it's a beta but it's the cycle most orphans go through it's a kool game a lot has been changed a lot but why I appreciate this game is because I feel even with mods it's at it's core how this town is no happy place with no happy ending (untill the planned ending) I'd be glad to see the ending but that's quite literally the ending for now either be captured forever or hide from the town at some points of the game espically on harder difficulting goings to that weird sewer dweller it feels safer bailey is complete dick all the police know yet do nothing because at this point bailey supplies it's town with their "workers" every kid who just turned 18 is literally shoved in a not so personal space world and demanded money this is msot shown with robin Robin is so sad because he is the result of the town you interfeir with his life and save his ass im sure in further updates you may be able to befriend or "befriend" a police officer to get more police help but for now the town remains the same long story short mm good game me like

You just have to walk out of town from Harvest street (far right) you can then either hitchhike or walk there, hitchhiking only take 15 but is dangerous, walking takes a while, If you have good enough history you can also take the costal path from Mer Street, this takes 3 hours, but is quicker if you have higher athletics you it takes less time, if you have the harpy transformation you can make it in about 1.5 hours, The only issue is that it takes a while before Alex will let you stay there, so you'll have to commute back each day so save some fatigue for the return trip, If you have romanced the great hawk their tower is closer but the moors are dangerous to low level pcs

@@devalk_ Try opening "pre-moderated" comments in youtube studio, all fųċkş, ĉũŋţs and ąšşĥőĺĕŝ are there, as youtube is a family friendly platform, never you mind "youtube-kids". Though the pre-moderated comments are to be deleted after 60 days, so that's the reason why. And the band rocks, thank you wholeheartedly)

I have a question and please be kind with your answers. I just discovered the *Ivory Wraith* & ended up in a cage located at the lake and escaped. Now my question.... Is there more to this encounter with the Wraith, or on Blood Moons do you simply end up in a cage at the lake able to escape??

As of right now the Wraith is quite new, being added in the most recent patch, They will hunt you ever Blood Moon post Halloween. If you get caught by them and taken to the underwater prison then upon hitting certain trauma and time requirements you get a secret scene that unlocks the "Schism" feat. There are also a lot of minor interactions that they can show up in, which are more common around the blood moons, and some hidden scenes I won't spoil. And potentially more to come in future updates. Also FYI you will need to go to the underwater plinth room on a blood moon if you wish to get rid of the ear slime they probably gave you.
