You are AMAZING- thank you SO very much!! I have a Subaru 2020 and had the same issues and then some. Couldn’t stay connected to CarPlay or anything utilizing it and it was so frustrating I was about to give this car back. I know they have class action lawsuits about this, so it’s shocking their corporate office and dealerships don’t know about this easy fix. I got an Apple MFi 2-foot cord and it seems to have 100% fixed the CarPlay connection issues. I passed this information and your video link on to their corporate office and service manager locally. Again, can’t thank you enough for making my car work, finally! 🎉

Wow I would have never suspected the cable length. I have a 2021 Ram with Uconnect and the 11 pro max with 3 ft. Apple cable and am having the same issues. This was super helpful. I was almost ready to book a dealer service appointment for this, but I’m going to try this first. Thank you so much!

@@tylerhulst9024 Initially I was using a 6 foot Generic cable. I switched to a 3 foot APPLE cable and my problem was resolved.

Going to try what you suggest. We have a Mercedes 250 GLA and CarPlay works intermittently , really frustrating. Mercedes of course said it worked fine when they tested it. My wife uses it every day and it won't work in the morning but on the ride home at night it works. Very strange. I am going to try a new shorter cable as you suggest. Thanks. Glad to see we aren't the only ones having issues.

Subscribed!!!! Best tip. Problem solved. I bought a cable 6 inches long. Worked fine now. It makes sense that the old model iphone works but new one does not. Because the new one normally consumes more power. Try the cable as short as possible. Problem should be solved.

Hey new maxima guy here. 2017 model year. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and what I discovered is that you plug in the phone, click CarPlay and when the message pops up, disconnect the cord from the phone and reconnect and voila

I’ve got a Vauxhall Insignia in U.K. & CarPlay was always worked faultless with my iPhone XR, my wife’s iPhone 11 but with my 12 Pro it’ll start up & be slow & sluggish then crash the car infotainment system. Sometimes it won’t even log into CarPlay exactly like your video shows. I too was using an official Apple Cable & had a 20 cm cable actually in the car that was always too fiddly to use. I’ve just ran out & tried it & it’s early days yet but the CarPlay worked straight away. I haven’t used it in the wild yet but I will. I’d be interested if you had anymore problems once you received your new short cable

No CarPlay issues with shorter cable. Resolved it for me and many who commented on this video below. Although for some it didn’t work. If you haven’t tried yet, give it a try, never hurts.

Same thing happened with alpine radio. I called tech support that’s what one of the things they mentioned. Tried a shorter cable and sure enough… that fixed it.

It happens to me and frustrating I have Nissan Sentra 2020. I use Apple's official 3ft cable and bought a new cable and both didn't work so I'll try shorter 2ft/1ft cable!! Thanks for the tip hope shorter cable solve the problem!!

I really think it’s an Apple issue. I’m going to try and pick up a shorter cable. My dealer already swapped out the head unit. It was working perfectly about 98% of the time until I updated to iOS 13.3. Now it’s back to randomly dropping off and not being able to get it to connect again is very frustrating specially now here in FL you can’t be even holding your phone while you are driving. I need it to work as designed!!!

Any suggestions if the apple car play does not come up at all ? I have a IPhone 12 and a have 2017 maxima and the cords at one point was working fine, the all of a sudden no luck .. my usb2 works ( not for CarPlay just in general) but not my usb 1 will not seems like even with a new cord . I have not tried a shorter cord so I will do that and see but I’m feeling discouraged. Like you mentioned Nissan does not have the answer they blame it on apple smh so I don’t know so is there a possibility that usb one needs a new fuse or something ??

Did shorter cord work? Some issues are hardware Nissan will be able to help you with that if you can demo that it's not working for any phone.

Try 1ft cable. That’s what worked well for me.

i have a mazda 6 year 2021 and the wireless does not work sometimes and it kicks me out randomly or when i connect with a USB to charge my phone carplay stops sometimes and sometimes it doesnt.

Oh wow this is totally random. I still feel that Carplay is not fully furnished product. Industry leaders rushed it just to say that they support it.

I have a problem on my 2019 Toyota RAV4. CarPlay won’t open sometimes when phone locked. It is supposed to be able to. I have enacted this in phone settings. Once I unlock the phone it works and reconnecting during that day it works when Locke, but the next day I have to go through this process again. Any ideas?

My cord always worked with you tube through my stereo, but lately I can’t get it to come through, can cables get worn out?

Yes. Cables go bad after use. Also there could be lint in your phone’s connector. I clean the port on phone where cable plugs in.

I have an Iphone 12 PRO and my girlfriend has a 11 PRO, hers works perfect with a 1,5m cable (5ft) but mine cannot connect. I've tried everything in the book from firmware resets to reinstalling my Iphone... this is the last thing I'll try. I'll keep you posted!

It did, I fiddled arround with my radio and connected the cable directly without the center console input and the shortened length fixed the issue!

I'm going through this issue right now. I have a short cable so I don't see this working. I had this issue with the iPhone 8 Plus and my Sentra would say that no Apple CarPlay device was detected. Now I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and same issue. A hard reset to the system usually fixes the issue but Nissan keeps telling me that my phone isn't supported so they can't help. I'm VERY upset.

Sad to know. Sometimes the port on car is problematic too. Can you check with perhaps your friend's iPhone to see if that works?

@@ninerpeak I will try it with a friend for sure. One has a 10, which is supported, so I will see what they have to say to that. I think it is the entire system. Sometimes, when I turn on the car, the screen is black. Music will play but I won't be able to see anything. Then, the system would restart and it work. I told them this but they refuse to listen.

My issue in my 2020 Titan is that CarPlay works, Siri can be heard, maps, etc., but my Spotify won’t play on car and stays playing on phone, although it shows and can be controlled on display. Also, my 2017 car worked fine with my iPhone 11 like yours.

I have the same problem with my Honda Accord 19". Spotify worked great with my iPhone 7 but when I upgraded to the 11, it created this problem. Was the problem solved for you once you got a new cable?

@@danielleh23 it slowly started working. I would unplug, plug, restart truck, etc. to get it to work properly, but after a few weeks it just worked like Normal.

Try turning off phone Bluetooth. That helped in some cases. I’m sorry that your issue didn’t get resolve with this fix. There are some car and phone models this fix stopped working on.

My car it's 2009 Buick Enclave and I try to used bluetooth to play music but didn't work with my but I will try to do same you did and i hope it's work 😔

Hi. I have different issue.I'm using carplay(wired) with my 11 pro max.(ios 13.6) I'm connecting my phone with my airpods lighting cable. When I receive a call through CarPlay I can see the caller ID and answer the call. After 2-3 minutes(sometimes shorter) I cannot hear the caller but they can hear me. I reset my phone(settings reset, network reset) remove&add my car on carplay, reset my car's multimedia system, restart my phone but the problem hasn't solved. I saw some topics about this issue(in older ios versions) at the internet and the problem seems to be solved after ios 13. but for me its just happening with 13.6. is there any accurate solution?

Have you tried turning off Bluetooth or unpairing your phone from your car? That helped one of my friends.

Hi, I just purchased a 2018 Nissan Leaf and I notice that blutooth audio works very well Pandora, TIDAL etc... but when using any music app through Apple CarPlay it contionusly stutters. Very frustrating, any ideas? I'm new to CarPlay but not to the iPhone. Is this a known problem? I'm hoping there is a simple solution, audio is a big deal for me and if I can't get audio working then CarPlay is pretty much worthless to me. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

Now I connect over WiFi and I’m seeing that as well but I’m on iOS 17 beta so possibly that’s the reason. My wife’s phone works without issues. I suggest repairing Bluetooth and WiFi.

Dis it work for everyone? I connect my iPhone 14 pro to my Corolla Hybrid 2023, sometimes it works, and if it works, I set Waze and Spotify and after like a minute it will turn off the radio and disconnect Apple car play, using a standard size 6” original brand new Apple cable and also tried a Belmont cable. Charges fine, it is just the Apple car play failing

I have one foot certified cables and mine still crashes. Very Very annoying. I have not been able to figure it out...

I have a 2020 corolla le and i have an iphone 12. Apple car play was working fine till today it just stopped working, i update my phone yesterday and today apple carplay wont work idk if its a coincidence but ive tried everything and nothing works

Mine has done that before also. I went into settings on car and deleted my phone and then reconnected it again. It fixed the issue. Hope that helps

My 2018 Chevy volt did the same thing it wouldn’t work so I’m going to test that out I will let you know if it work for mine👌🏻

@@ninerpeak it didn't work for me sorry but what I did was that I checked to see if my iPhone(iOS) was up to date. I didn't know it was not up to date till I checked so I updated it then my phone was connecting normal. to my chevy volt that fixed my problem I hope this was helpful.

i have an issues with apple car play in my Nissan. it seems like doesn't read any USB cables and the Apple Carplay doesn't come out but my iPhone still charging when I connect the USB to the cars.

Anything shorter than 3ft or 1m. I had a 2ft and 1ft. Both worked.

Have you tried resetting infotainment system. Also try disabling Bluetooth of your phone and then connect the cable. That seem to have helped some people.

I didn’t know how to directly talk to u cause I have a real issue with that, I do have the same phone and car model as u but when i plug the usb whether its apples or another, it just says “cant read the usb” or smth like that. So it doesn’t even show the word “apple carplay” when I try to plug it in! btw my car is maxima 2018 and it does support apple and android car play. I dont know what to do! I need the google maps so much in my screen.

i have a radio sony xav-ax5550d and when i use iPhone 11pro all is ok, when i use iPhone se2020 all is ok but when i use iPhone 12pro apple CarPlay doesn't work. i have called many many times apple support but they don't have solution. I think the problem is software or hardware iPhone 12pro Now i bought a short cable and i'll try i hope its the solution because is a big big problem this and it's sad apple doesn't have solution.....

Ive got a 2020 malibu chevy. iphone 11 has been working fine. today I tried and doesnt work. connects via bluetooh but wont let me use the screen. weird cause the phone charging cable has been fine-
