Def Jef was an underrated lyricist. He had a pretty good stage show too. His dancers were ALL THAT! They came with it!

Def Jef is my homeboy and I spoke to him about this track because I thought Etta James voice was just used for the track. Hell no my dude actually had her up in the studio. That's totally classic my dude rarely can hip hop artist get people like this or Miles Davis on tracks. Salute Def Jef & Easy Mo Bee.

This track "Droppin Rhymes On Drums" by DEF JEF was well received in Chicago, labeled Hip House. Played on radio B96 and Clubs all over Chicago, def a classic.

I have a video of my son when he about two years old. My son was chilling, that is until this song came on. Once "Dropping Rhymes On Drums" came on he start jumping around and dancing. Dope song from a legend and good guy who always stayed grounded. Best of health, happiness, and more success to Def Jeff. - Imp the Great.

Wow this video is off the chain. My mom is in this video she's shown for 2:51-2:32 seconds with the gold bamboo triangle earings and that lady right next to her is our friend Lidea. "Wow"! look at my mom and my aunt Lidea famous and doing the damn thing. When I met Jeff again recently which was last year that's when I learned that my mom and Lidea was in one of his videos. So cool Jeff you the man.

Man while everyone else was listening to NWA.....the kids on the Westside of L.A. we're rocking African Medallions and Historically Black College gear and dancing to music and becoming conscious at the same time. The name of the dancers are the Soul Brothers. They could GROOVE. Back in the 90's if you couldn't dance and groove to a song and it didn't have a positive message it didn't get played.!

Yeah man I'm from the Bay and I remember going to a Def Jef record release party, and I don't know if it was the Soul Brothers but it was some cats in there ripping it. I used to dance too and that shit got me pumped, first time I seen housing. I was fresh out of High School with a fake ID. These Soul brother cats were definitely one of my favorite dance groups. Good shit if you still doing the damn thang stay up. They also ripped on that show Rap Summit i thinkt thats the name.
