    Thanks Marc for great Q&A! I have a question if this didn't get covered: when bus compressing a whole mix, if you like what bus compressor does to certain tracks but not to the other tracks, how would you adjust that? Would you rather adjust the bus compressor or those other tracks that doesn't sound as nice?

    Split ac ya for sure but also a dehumidifier As a combo and. Both need drain hose outside .. then your gear guitars can be in controlled humidity environment .. being in Indonesia with studio and dozens of instruments it’s the only we .. then humidity and temp meter to keep it between 45 to 60 percent .. has to be both as ac alone won’t do it …

    I asked this in chat but am not sure if you were able to get to it (I had to jump on work meetings and couldn't listen in): What is the best strategy for when you're done with a mix and you like how it sounds... but you want to start some pre-mastering with the drums and use the "clipper" to give the mix a haircut. How do you do that without losing a lot of the force of the drums? I'm guessing--fattening up the snare sound so it still stands out without it having to have giant transients? Thanks.

  • @johnvcougar

    @johnvcougar

    2 жыл бұрын

    I read this three times and still don’t know what you’re getting at: if you’re happy with the mix, why would you THEN start messing with the drums individually? That’s not mastering, you’re still mixing. You master after you’re done with the mix.

    As far as storage, Dropbox only has 2GB storage. I'd argue that if you're using this for your living, don't use free stuff. Pay for storage if it's important to you. I agree with Marc and Warren that you don't HAVE to have expensive stuff to make great music/recordings. I'm still not convinced of Atmos for music. Being in the middle of the band doesn't interest me as a listening point.
