Deep Space D-6 Armada - Tutorial Video

Ойындар

Deep Space D-6 Armada is a cooperative dice allocation game of sci-fi space combat for 1-4 players that plays in anywhere from 90-150 minutes depending on player count and end game condition.
"Deep Space D-6: Armada is the standalone multiplayer sequel to Deep Space D-6.
In the far reaches of the galaxy, a local cluster of planets has been overtaken by a hostile regime known as The Federation. Players will take command of starships and work together to complete missions while defending the system from enemy fleets.
Each player begins the game with their own starship with unique capabilities and basic crew. As you earn credits from completing missions, you'll be able to upgrade your ship and hire advanced Heroic crew members. Your crew are your dice and players will roll them, then assign them to their ship's stations in order to perform actions during combat or to complete missions.
Ship to ship combat in Armada involves managing your crew and ship stations. As your ship takes damages, your stations become disabled and require repair actions by engineers. Your crew is also susceptible to injury and you'll take medic actions to revive them. Ships can be customized to your individual playstyle, whether you prefer to deal direct damage, or support teammates by disabling enemy shields and stations.
Each round consists of the following phases:
1) Planning: Players travel to nearby planets. Players may also repair and upgrade their ships or hire new crew members during this time.
2) Encounter: Players combat enemy fleets or resolve missions (together or alone).
3) Resolution: Event cards and hazard effects are resolved. Enemy reinforcements will also appear at this time.
Once players have collected enough Data tokens, a final encounter is revealed. If they can defeat this final encounter, the players will win the game. What challenge faces our Captains? And who is behind all the terror?
DSD6: Armada takes the gameplay of Deep Space D-6 and enhances it with ship upgrades, dice mitigation, missions, and co-operative gameplay- all while retaining the game's signature minimalist style.
DSD6: Armada is not an expansion and does not require the original Deep Space D-6."

Hey! Thank you for that video! It really helped me learn the game, especially with all the confusion about the instructions and misprints etc. One feedback I would give you though; your video would gain in appeal if you would speak slower and in a more articulate way. Especially for tutorial videos, this would really help. One example I have is at around 20:30. I could not get this part completely the first time. Cheers!

Glad the video helped! I am always fighting a battle between making the videos shorter and also getting all the content covered. I try to ennunciate but sadly I have been a mumbler all my life which is odd since I am extremely outgoing and am used to public speaking. I will keep trying to be conscious of the mumble and strive to be better, thanks for watching!

@@OffTheShelfBoardGameReviews Yeah I completely understand. I am actually the worst when it comes to mumbling to be honest. I am not a native english speaker so even though I am pretty fluent, it might also play. Depending on your target audience, it might not be a big deal. Good luck with you channel! I’m subscribing!

Excellent tutorial, very clear for the most part. one question about team away missions, both players roll all their dice, both players assign their dice, can they fill 2 of the boxes with dice (1 per player) before they need to reroll, or are they still limited to one filled box per turn as a team?

Team rules use the exact same restrictions as a solo away mission, the only real difference is you effectively have a double sized dice pool. So basically better dice odds but same gameplay rules. Hope that helps!

Heya! I could never sort out how to play this game w/o this video!! Ty!! But question on Repair action: the revised rule I see on the Tau site says you repair 1 Hull plus 1 Hull for each Engineering and Command die. Around 24:47 your example skips the automatic repair 1 Hull. Was this an oops on your part or have the rules changed more? At this point I’m sorta temped to just play this game however I enjoy it and call those the rules…That’s the perk of being a Solo board gamer!

away mission 49 has a hazard with a timer with max 5 timer markers, and then you lose the next planning phase as a failure. does the timer reset or is it considered a dead away mission and discarded? the manual doesnt say anything an nobody is talking about it on the forums

Take this with a grain of salt since this was a borrowed copy and I cannot open the box to confirm but I do believe you lose the card and it is discarded.

The manual for this game is so badly written, a lot of the information you've covered wasnt in it or easily found in it. You've made this such a clear game now, Im looking forward to actually trying it
