Hit me hard. Definitely took me 8 years to fully get over the hurt of back to back heart breaks. I had to really sit back and repair my heart and self. It was hard to trust my own feelings especially when someone can just break it down in a quick moment. A moment for me felt like a life time. Mark keep doing what u are doing. Your songs definitely brought memories but it also showed me how much i grew from that time away. Made me find the love i have now.

As always, lyrical genius! Everything of yours I've listened to has resonated with me on so many levels. This one, though... from the content to the execution is truly phenomenal! The vocal run Devaroux did on the word "tell" makes my heart break a little every time. And the way your voice sort of broke, but in a controlled sort of way when you said stay at the end of the second verse; I could tell you felt that so deeply. If you (and/or Devaroux) could give me some feedback on my current struggle it would mean the world to me. So, November of last year, my now ex-girlfriend left me for my best friend and moved from our place in Northern Humboldt County, California to Sacramento, California. She told him she loved him right in front of me. We had been together for two years and were engaged to be married. We were partying a lot but then I started to isolate. About 3 months later, I ended up with a used car that a friend gifted me; a 2004 Honda Civic, got myself a new phone, and a better job that I was set to interview for the next day. A mutual friend of ours was in jail and her fiance was homeless so I drove to go help him run errands. While I ran into the store to buy some things for him and get us something to eat, he stole my new car and my new phone. I missed my interview and lost both the job I had and the one I was interviewing for because of this. I couldn't take it. I had lost everything and the pain was too much. I went to someone I had known for a while and asked to borrow a gun. I walked to the bridge and, as I looked out over the bay, I put the gun to my head and pulled the trigger. I waited for what felt like forever and opened my eyes to still see the bay. My friend removed the bullets. I threw it into the bay and walked away. That was when I ran into My ex-best friend's heroin dealer and got him to give me a shot of heroin. I had never done it before and I nearly died from the amount I put into my veins. I walked two towns away to my mom's house and broke down. I told her everything. I spent the next few months pulling myself together the best I could. Then, just as I was starting to feel as though I might heal, she called me. This was a month ago. She told me that she had made a mistake, that she loved me and that she wanted to make things right. To try again. She said she didn't know how to forgive herself (or me) for not fighting harder for what we had. She did this all while shooting up meth on a video chat with me. She refuses to leave him but is ripping me open again. I grew up with this woman. She was my best friend in the world before we ever decided to date. How can I honestly ever love someone again? I want to try but I also know that I am weak. I would give up anything just for one last chance with my ex, despite all of this. Nobody deserves to have to be the one to love me and only have 50%. I don't want to do to someone else what she did to me. The reason I ask you for help is because after all of this, there have been days that suicide is so close I can taste it. Listening to your music (this song in particular) on those days has pushed it from my sight and just out of reach. There is a part of me that literally owes my life to you.
