We have actually three different ways of teaching how creation stated. All three are correct. 1. Nasadia sukta rig Veda 129 hyms(kind of big bang thory), 2. Shiva-shakti way of telling how creation started, 3. Visnu anath(infinite) sayan and latus created from vishni. If you decode 2 & 3 vesion, you will find 2&3 version=1st vesion of creation. You only told universe is collapse and expand like flower. It is same flower idea presented in story form to teach this people at that time. Universe(space), time, Knowledge and mind started with big bang, everything will collapse into brahman in future.

Mr Lachani, I think you’ve missed something: Vivekananda said: space, time and causality. Words Universe and God still have different meanings: one term has causality and the other - do not. So there is still a gap between spirituality and scientific atheism. I don’t know about Hawking for sure, of course, but presume he implies “no need for causality” when he’s saying “no need for God”.

Causuality in that regard might mean laws of phisics unfold itself. Cause for all the things to emerge from chaos.
