Deep Purple with Orchestra - Black Night ( Live At Montreux 2011)

Музыка

Filmed on the closing night of this year's Montreux Festival on July 16, this concert features Deep Purple playing their classic hits with the accompaniment of a full symphony orchestra conducted by Stephen "BK" Bentley-Klein. The orchestral arrangements give an added depth and range to the familiar songs and the band, who are clearly enjoying the experience, deliver one of their finest performances. With a career stretching back into the late sixties and global album sales in excess of 100 million, Deep Purple need no introduction. They continue to record and perform around the world on an ongoing basis and remain of the finest hard rock bands on the planet as this live DVD clearly shows.

Ian Gillan came to Deep Purple and started to talk norms which led the exit of Sir Richard Blackmore and created total chaos, reason drinking Gillan when asked would give excuses. Sir Richard Blackmore was so polite but had to exit eventually as Jon Lord favored him and did the mistake and later realised the band failed to make it miserably with their albums without Richie Blackmore. Without Sir Richard Blackmore the band is nothing. Sometimes wrong decisions pay a price. Purple is because of Sir Ritchie and Sir John Lord period..

Blackmore and Lord made the Purple sound, I totally agree. But there is no denying the fact that Purple was dying in the early 90s just before Ritchie left. In an interview Gillan talked about how they were playing significantly smaller venues then they were used to, and even then they were only selling about half the venue. Ritchie was walking off stage every night and making a fuss for minor things. His feelings towards Gillan are totally valid, but Purple was dying with Ritchie by the end and it was a win-win scenario for him to leave. When Lord left it was a different story. Bananas is regarded as Purple's worst album. Don Airey is an incredibly capable pianist, it's not his fault that their new stuff isn't great.

I love Ritchie's melodic rocking but have to ask ... why do you say that? Morse is fantastic guitarist IMO ... technically at par with Blackmore if not better ... also Morse has been with Deep Purple longer than any guitarist including Blackmore ... he is the right fit for the group obviously and they keep rocking and filling arenas across the world
