Imagine my thrills and chills to sit here, an old lady now, rocking my brains out, full volume. Yeah, I could watch them as they are now cuz that's on youtube too. No thanks. Give me the full blast in the brain. That's what I want. What brought them together like this at their musical peaks? God only knows, but I'm grateful I'm here.

Hard to imagine how that made sense, as they were the highest grossing band at the time. If they hadn’t had a split and personnel change at that time, they would have been the household name... however, it wouldn’t make them better, they were so musically above most other hard rock bands. Not too many bands with talent levels like Blackmore and Lord in them.

OMG! Blackmores guitarsound at that time was beyound magical!! So clean, but yet slightly overdriven, and he had a lot of sustain. Guess we'll never know how he did it, but it's possible to come close with the right pups, amp, guitar etc. But most important, he's sound was, and is, in his fingers ;-)

Custom Marshall amps helped (wayyyyyy higher output than usual, but very high maintenance), and he ran his Strat through a tape recorder (not recording) to fatten up the sound. He always used only the neck or bridge pickup at once, and his sig Strat has Seymour Duncan quarter pounders on it.

the way he shouts is awesome, so much energy among all members. GOAT
All that wonderful energy!!! Ahhh
Amazing when you think this happened back when we were young and kicking ass. I was in college, working, raising kids and barely had time to think let alone got to concerts. I never saw them live.
Amazing live🔥🔥 everything is just perfect!!

Love Roger’s blue jeans. This is where grunge started.
Amazing!
deep purple & zappa music heaven
A melhor formação desta banda extraordinária, lançaram grandes discos e ao vivo ninguém era melhor que eles.
imagine being deep purple then, and not getting all the credit you deserved, and then look at music now..

Ya know how on occasion your partaking of some weed, and it hits ya up side the head and places you into a VERY high buzz. ...Then , you smile another one. Why another one, -I don’t know but it does happen. The happiest, surest way to way to resolve that state of mind is....? Smoke up all the weed u got and chill out and enjoy because Deep Purple is the greatest stoned jam band ever. -Your Welcome. Have fun. Spread the cure, PEACE
those were the days
brilliant. Thanks for sharing
The quality is really great it's like a 90s concert
The best, game changers!

As great as it still is and was, it seems to be a time capsule, New York concerts and concert goers in the early 70's, remember it well. Nice to see the band and have a visual for the Made in Japan era!!! Thanks!
Hello we’re Deep Purple, we’re going to casually blow all of your minds. Thank you, and come again. 😎🤯🙏😊
We all came out to Montreux On the Lake Geneva shoreline To make records with a mobile We didn't have much time Frank Zappa and the Mothers Were at the best place around But some stupid with a flare gun Burned the place to the ground Smoke on the water A fire in the sky Smoke on the water They burned down the gambling house It died with an awful sound Uh, Funky Claude was running in and out Pulling kids on the ground When it all was over We had to find another place But Swiss time was running out It seemed that we would lose the race Smoke on the water A fire in the sky Smoke on the water We ended up at the Grand Hotel It was empty, cold, and bare But with the Rolling truck Stones thing just outside Making our music there With a few red lights, a few old beds We make a place to sweat No matter what we get out of this Ha, I know, I know we'll never forget Smoke on the water A fire in the sky Smoke on the water

10:15 Hilarious headbanging by Blackmore :-D Gotta love this band. The best lineup they ever head at their peak. Gillan singing is fantastic and Blackmore is still feeling it and cool as hell. Damn and everything in quite nice audio and video quality. How could anybody not dig this?

One of the very best!
The Great Group!
I saw them on this same tour at the Long Beach Arena. I almost caught Ritchie’s smashed up Fender when he threw it to the crowd. Some other dude in front of us grabbed it and quickly tucked it under his coat for keeps. Oh well.
Ian is so cuuuuute in this haha
Deep Purple is sick
Toedoideh... absurdo! The best band que jamais existiu!
I jak tu nie kochać tego purpurowego zespołu?!!!
the best line up in my opinion. Gillan was a vocal genius , ,coverdale was good but didnt have his range. Smoke on the water, never fails, love the intro,,lead, lead, lead, symbol, lead, symbol, drum and then in comes Glover withe the bass,brillilliant..
Ritchie strat tones...the best!
Ian he is so handsome
Jon Lord took the Keys to a zenith even out doing Blackmore in many solos.
Hot! 🔥🔥🔥 IAN GILLAN.
Esta musica .me hase holvidar todos mys problemas.
Btw, Gillan was at his peak around this period. Just listen to his raspy, "angry" voice during the first verse of SOTW. Fantastic!!! Well, considering he's very drunk in this clip ;-)
FARRRR OUUUUTT ~ I want the Whole Show!!! Pretty Please? Wink~Wink! >°•°
"If there was one person in history whose voice I could have..." "..Ian GIllan"
Great clip - excellent quality audio and video.
Best voice in rock history....uh best band in history (in my opinion) Altough Ritchie and Gillan hated each other, the shows where very very tight and very good
This music is such a rock and roll classic
Wow, Lord is on fire.

'Space Truckin': where was the line between Metal and Prog?--in those days it was all just music. Great to see a crowd getting excited like this, and with something truly to get excited about.
Esse solo da primeiro música ficou muito foooda slk cachoeira, massa demais, sem palavras pra descrever isso
Wow!! Ritchie Blackmore.
Fucking incredible!!!!!!!

THANKS, ...................GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU !
I’ve seen them a couple times, As I recall Blackmore never stops playing, he was always fingering his guitar between songs
