Deep Hollowing a Sycamore Hollow Form Vase
Ойын-сауық
Making a Deep Hollowed Sycamore Vase. I pull out all of my stops when I use my Clark Deep Hollowing system to create deep hollowed Sycamore Vase. I also create a stand for the vase as well as a segmented top.

Gorgeous piece, Mike. The vase, by itself, is stunning. With the stand it is a work of art. Well done.

I'm not sure if it's woodturning or a major engineering construction project! The sycamore vase looks amazing and then to add detailing with segmented turning is incredible. Great job. I think my whippet would grab on of those legs and run though...

Ray! Coming from you that is a HUGE compliment! You make some of the most technically challenging pieces I have ever seen! Thanks for the very kind words!
Can’t believe I’m watching this this morning. I'm just getting ready to go in my shop, and work on the exact same thing on the exact same lathe. Watching you is a lot easier than doing it myself!

beautifull piece sir. if i may, an idea i got from another turner, when you are drilling a deep one (with the extension), use the rest tool as a support right near the opening\ insert. laying th extension on the rest tool if i was not clear enough.

I did not make the hollowing system. It is the Clark Deep Hollowing System. It works well and it is reasonably priced. Thanks for watching!
What’s the hollowing system you’re using?
