Deee-Lite is a house and club/dance group known for their 1990 crossover smash "Groove Is In The Heart," dance chart hits “Power Of Love,” “Good Beat,” and their albums ‘World Clique,’ ‘Infinity Within,’ and ‘Dewdrops in the Garden.’
Deee-Lite was formed in 1986 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn by vocalist Lady Miss Kier and multi-instrumentalist Super DJ Dmitry and became popular in the New York club scene as a vibrant and lively dance act known for their unique Holographic Techno Soul, psychedelic light show, and innovative art direction. Jungle DJ Towa Towa officially joined the group in 1989 contributing production on the first album and both songwriting and production on the second. Deee-Lite broke up in 1993 but all three artists continue to deejay to this day.

I understand how you feel, but you'd also be dealing with untreatable HIV, and it's devastation on the arts community in NYC and everywhere else. I was 30 in 1988 and these were frightening, sorrowful years. Believe me, you would not to relive them.

Violet is a huge fan of Deee-Lite-- the first thing she said when she walked into the workroom on Season 7 was "Oh, la la, la LA LA LA LA LA...." and I caught her wearing a Deee-Lite tee-shirt during her exit lunch with RuPaul. This continues to be a go-to song for me. Used to go to Chicago to see you when I was living/studying in Madison. Eight days ago my little 21+ year old dog Pomeranian 'Mister Baby' died in my arms during a seizure, no pulse, no heartbeat, no breathing, completely gone. From deep within me as I was overtaken by grief, several minutes after he had passed, but still holding his little body in my arms, I screamed at the top of my lungs in my voice of god voice "I LOVE YOU MISTER BABY!!!!!!!!" and he came back! Mister Baby took a HUGE gasp of air, his heart started POUNDING, he looked at me like "WTF is going on?!!!" and HE LIVES!!!!!! So yes, I believe in the power of love, and this song is the ANTHEM for that!!! Thank you for all the joy, love, and fun you have brought, and will continue to bring ino this world, where it is much needed!!!
