Before our country became so crazy I loved the forth of July and looking at our country’s flag flying in the air. What a beautiful sight that is. But I must say it means so much more to me now. The feelings for all that has been sacrificed for our freedom brings me to tears . Every one of us needs to make sure it’s not taken away from us. I love the way you decorated your home. Hi, Elizabeth. I'm new here and am greatly enjoying your videos. You are absolutely beautiful, your home is lovely and your sense of design is delightful. Girl, you knocked this out of the park! From the Instagram post styling to the topiaries to the glorious flag on the mantle to the rug to the tea towels to that gorgeous tablecloth you were given - wow, I'm blown away. While I am obsessed with cloches, I love the swap out you made. The height and contrast made a huge difference. I'm a recent widow and just moved to the historic district of a small town in a home built in 1882. Even though I'm not yet completely unpacked nor totally settled, you've inspired me to decorate for the summer and the Independence Day holiday. Thank you for an uplifting video. - Carla

Gorgeous room!The new rug is amazing. I think the stacked baskets are perfect for summer. The Bible verse is so true but, for me, it seems sad things have changed so much. Keep your faith and live in hope.

I love the baskets stacked with topiaries. They new rug is beautiful with an old world feeling. The red table cloth inspires the European feel. If you brush your new flags with black tea or even dip them in the tea, you will achieve a very aged or vintage looking flags. Great job.

I’m glad you like the baskets, thank you for letting know! All the flags I used at the end have been stained and aged 🇺🇸 I used antiquing wax to age the small ones.

Oh, wow, my grandmother would have loved you! She was a cool whip connoisseur, in fact the containers were her form of Tupperware 😂 I’m more a real whipped cream type of gal. There’s something about vintage Americana that nearly brings me to tears in a good way. My mind immediately goes to the 1940’s era. I love your decor and thought the use of the flower frog for the flags was brilliant and your rug is gorgeous! I really like how the red white and blue ties in. Well done! And ending with the psalm from the Bible was perfect. Have a fabulous Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Elizabeth you did an awesome job decorating your dining room! I am a very patriotic girl and this is right up my alley. We live in a small town called Faith, North Carolina. We are known for our 4th of July celebration. We kicked it off this past Saturday night with our annual street dance. Thursday there will be amusement rides and food nightly and a different band each night. On the fourth there will be a parade, the rides run all day and there’s old fashioned games for anyone who would like to participate in. That night concludes the week with a mammoth fireworks display. We live two houses from Main Street and we can take in all the festivities without getting in the mob. In our younger days we right in the middle of it. Now it’s just fun to observe from a distance. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. I’m already dreading taking down all my fourth decorations. I love it.

Beautiful set up. Missing my sister; she loved the 4th of July. We would decorate my home for this holiday, watch the fireworks from my backyard, invite the fam, and listen to patriotic music from her playlist. It was the best time. This brings back memories of fun times.

I love the picnic baskets maybe add a red/blue flower in front of basket in a small crystal vase to add a bit of color. Rug is beautiful

I say that there is never too much coolwhip! The cake would be pretty with blueberries and strawberries. The rug is gorgeous! I love your home home and all of the patriotic touches!

I liked the basket arrangement better, but maybe not both baskets?

I love the baskets & topiaries on the hutch. Perhaps placing something smaller in front of the baskets will give the perception of them not looking too large? For a Patriotic theme, maybe use either 3 decorative stars propped up against the bottom basket (larger star in the center & matching smaller ones on either side of it) or even just a small swag of greenery with just a few red and/or white flowers tucked in. The rug is stunning and and you always seem to find the perfect pieces to decorate with.

Oh I loved everything; every detail. The cloches up above the hutch are pretty, as well as the second option 🤍🤍 whites and woods with vintage americana is fabulous 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 thanks for sharing and happy 4th of July 🤍❤️💙

Everything looks great. Here's a tip I just learned this year for your flags. Use a flat iron on them to get the wrinkles out and it gives them the perfect little curl and makes them look adorable.

The new rug is absolutely beautiful, wish I could afford one. I love the tablecloth your mom gave you. I love your cloche collection but I agree it needed something, maybe more color? But the baskets are beautiful. Maybe hang a small flag like a doily from inside out of it? A tea stained one? Glad you turned the flag around on mantle 🇺🇸. As usual your home looks beautiful! OH MY HEAD! I am just getting up, Mondays are days off for us, having coffee....I am ready! Let's decorate! Our husbands are very tolerant of our hobby!! My husband is living in a shabby chic house LOL He says "it looks like I am getting ready for him to die". I use patriotic items to add a masculine touch. I just noticed, I love how you put peg hooks on the windows. Could you show us how you cut those watermelon triangles? I am so tired of the smile shape, cut in half. I'll google it. THAT RUG IS AWESOME!

I like the baskets better. I think you should take down the topiary’s. Put some green spilling out from one of the baskets.

Thank you! The reason I used antiquing wax is because these flags were kind of plastic feeling, I don’t think they would have soaked up the tea.

Everything is beautiful as always. I especially love the patriotic banner on the fireplace. I hope this doesn't come across as being critical because because I absolutely love your decor style but if you were to press the wrinkles out of the tablecloth it would show off your decor even more. I guess I'm just a little old fashioned. My Mother always ironed everything to make it look especially nice and I guess I inherited her ironing gene. 😅Anyway please don't take offense. I love your ideas and the scripture verses you always share at the end of your videos. ❤🙂

No offense taken! The wrinkles were bothering me, but I knew it wasn’t staying on and I sometimes have to rush these things with 2 Littles in the house… I have to pick and choose how I spend my time carefully and what I give my attention to 😆
