Your husband is so sweet to partner with you in design and decorating! My husband won't help me with anything like that.

I want to thank you for the beautiful bed crown idea. I have been avoiding redoing the upstairs spare room, just couldn’t think of ideas. I watched this video and loved it, I knew I wanted the room to be a butter yellow so I found a deep wall shelf then ordered the table clothes on your video. It turned out beautifully! 😊🙏
I love your home. So cozy, warm, and inviting. I'm quite a bit older than you, but I too love having things passed down from my mother, family and mixing those things with some modern and just what attracts me. Thank you for the tour of your home.
That scripture at the end is one of my favorites.
Your children’s room is so perfect!! Love the colors of the furniture and the curtains!!! Can’t wait to see the finished bedroom. Love the fabric headboard. Very old European. Yet another by verse.
It looks beautiful your husband is so patient can’t wait till it’s done from canada
The gel stain worked really nicely.
I wanted to thank you for this video, I literally ordered the tablecloths and the curtains to make a shelf crown in our upstairs spare room. I painted the room a warm dark butter color of yellow. I would love to send you a picture when I’m done.
I’ve used a tension rod inside a shelf like that before to hang window treatments. I hung the shelf over a window and still had room for plate display above😇. Love the shelf you found! What a great find👍🏻

@debrapritts7978...even attaching a small rod inside the shelf would have worked & the fabric wouldn't look so flat...right?

Hi Trudy, it’s my favorite ❤️
I come from a large family n being in a room with all my sisters was great fun. Lovely ideas. God bless
What a transformation! I did a fancy bed crown thing once and we utilized bungee cords as curtain rods! It worked and I could take the drapes off and wash them..
You are so blessed to have a husband that will work with you!! I’ve had to learn if I want it done, I have to do it myself. (Hanging the gutters was by far the hardest-especially after the drill fell off the ladder onto my head….😖🙁)

He doesn’t always help me… I’ve done 80% of all home projects solo, but he’s gotten better about it recently. I hope your head is OK! 😣
Love the children’s beds so cute

Hi Elizabeth! I was so amazed at your gel stain shelf I am inspired to change my orangey wood! thank you
The kids room turned out so nice and your bedroom canopy looks really good too, you had a vision and you went for it.
The transformations are absolutely beautiful! The tape hack for where the screws go on the wall blew my mind! I dragged my husband in to watch! 😂

I did too! So genius!!
I also created a similar bed crown curtain. But, I used a large roll of sewing velcro tape. The rough velcro had adhesive back that adhered nicely to wood shelf. Then, I hand- sewed the fuzzy side of velcro tape to the back of my drapery tops. That way, you could take down curtains and wash them.
Loved the refreshing updates of the bedrooms! I was fortunate enough to inherit quite a few things from my great grandmother and grandparents. The unfortunate thing was I had to sell the dining room set, when I moved to England. I asked my sister if she wanted anything, but it wasn’t her style. I did manage to bring quite a few things over like her China, photos, a few Knick knacks and Christmas ornaments. Oh and a beautiful table cloth, that I still use and managed to keep it stain free!
That shelf was a great find and a real bargain. You made the shelf look so pretty. The curtains hung under the shelf is beautiful.

The kids room turned out so cute. And love your bedding, very pretty. That shelf is amazing! We've used the tape for hanging this many times, works like a charm😊 Absolutey love how the shelf turned out over your bed, very pretty! Thanks for sharing and for the scripture❤
I love your home it is absolutely gorgeous full of character ❤🎉
One more thing.. you could also use a tension rod to place instead the mantel over your bed... And God bless you my sister 🙏♥️🇨🇦
*ABSOLUTELY lovely❣️🤍💙*
Beautiful❤ I absolutely love your home.. the best thing about it; it is God centered🙏 have a blessed evening
Amazing what a little gel stain can do for wood !
❤the decor you and husband did in the bedrooms. Those drapes in the crown over bed is stunning. Great work.😊
I really enjoy looking at makeovers. It's so satisfying to see the end results.

LOVE what you did with the shelf. You are very talented!
I loved those makeovers, very nice hampers but that shelf with the material attached is so creative and just beautiful! I had never thought of using tablecloths for curtains but indeed it will save a fortune! You guys have such a beautiful home!!
I love both rooms. The canopy in the guestroom turned out so pretty❤❤

Love the idea of tablecloths. I live in a 1917 home and buying fabric for windows that are long is challenging and pricey.
Yellow my fav not today..😢 yes brown much better! Everything is beautiful!! So nice of your mom! U goo mom!!!😊
Loved it all!!
Hi Elizabeth! New subscriber here! I love your home! My home is 118 years old. My windows look a lot like yours. Thank you for the idea on how to hang my curtains because I have been wrecking my brain on how to do it. I didn’t want to cover up the wood completely, but I guess there’s really no way around it right😂 I have stained glass in a couple windows. I didn’t want to cover up I haven’t seen your whole house. Do you have stained glass windows? If so, I’d like to see how you decorated that window.❤ thanks for sharing your channel
I would have hung a curtain rail inside the crown. That way I could take down the fabric as needed for washing and/or changing out for seasonal decore.

@jackiewilson I had those 90’s oak cabinets in my home & just didn’t want to replace them all - I cleaned them really well with TSP (a degreaser) and then I used a Minwax stain with the urethane included in a color called Mission Oak - I put it on & wiped it, just like it was the first coat of stain, then did it again for the look I wanted - I used Satin finish, not glossy - since the urethane was already in it, I didn’t have to do anything else - I also used some black interior latex paint and lightly brushed it in crevices and edges - sort of like a glaze - did this about 10 years ago & they’re still great - really updated the look - they’re still not the cabinets I would choose if I were starting from scratch but we can’t all always do that !
I'm loving these makeovers! That fabric is gorgeous! So, the tablecloth you got the first time that did not work, is it linked? It would be perfect for me but I want you to get the profit from it. Can you help?
Excellent. Can you tell me where you got your off white bed comforter?
❤❤❤
Pretty but how do wash the curtains behind the bed. Nice job
Looks fantastic, one day at a time you will get things exactly how you want them ❤️ do you watch Chateau Diaries? You will love that I think 😁
Where did you get the blue & white quilt on you're bed?? Its folded at the foot of bed.
The wrinkles in your fabrics detract from your finished look! If you're going to all that trouble to get a beautiful room, it wouldn't take long to iron or steam your panels and would really give a nice finishing touch! I see this all the time and don't understand not getting rid of the wrinkles! Maybe this comes from being from an "ironing" generation. People don't iron their clothes any more either. You have so many great ideas and I especially love what you did with the shelf.

No dropcloth on a carpet while staining?

Nope, I was on my porch and don’t make a mess 👍
Hi👋 ❤
Like wise, why put the furniture into place then stain the skirting boards, why not clear the room completely before beginning. Seems a bit haphazard to me.
Beautiful, reminds me of French country style
No way
Not my business but just wondering why the kids are cramped into one room when you have a three story home?

In old English homes they used to have a nursery with up to three or four children’s beds in one room, obviously when the children became older they moved to their own bedrooms but only if you had the room, for the poor it was the only choice.

Some kids are scared of being alone when younger. Having a sibling there ro talk with or help is good.

What are you talking about lol?
I would never have guessed that was a kids room! There is no character or colour, found it very bland. I am English and live in a victorian house in England and my kids rooms are colourful and cosy! Loving your home though! ❤

Its beautiful but it's too bland for a kids room! There's no toys or kid pictures?? I know that's your style but you should let your kids decorate their rooms.

Kids today are way too over stimulated by STUFF and colors.
Love the $50 curtins, unfortunately the end of your video ruined it for me. I will never understand why some people will always somehow try their darnest to push their religion on others even as your video ended. Bummer, I will not be watching anymore of your videos. Good day.
