Fascinating... thanks for posting this. Davy Jones had a fantastic voice. Add Micky and Michael's vocals to the mix, and we have one amazing vocal band in the Monkees. A brilliant staff of songwriters and session musicians ensures that they're still an incredible blast to listen to.
Thank you for another cool Davy tune
Davy’s false start always bugged me a little; here it is in all its glory. 8:41.
It's listed as Micky on the background vocals but I think it's Davy for all of them

That's definitely the case - Davy recorded both vocals in New York right before Thanksgiving 1966.
Have always loved this song. Who played the acoustic and electric guitar at 3:25? I know they're all listed but I don't know the names that match the faces. I love the jingle-jangle sound. I never knew Neil Sedaka played keyboards for them!

Unfortunately I’m not sure who played which guitars. Maybe if I had more knowledge of the players themselves and their styles I could give you an answer, but this is all new to me 😢

@septylite No worries. I appreciate your videos and pictures, and all the detailed information you provide.
The keyboards actually sound like a glockenspiel. You can't really hear them at all in the final mix. It's too bad because it's a nice touch.

I agree. I hardly hear them in the final mix.
