I have loved slot cars since late 70s. My best and favorite memory of my brother and myself. Racing on my uncles big round afx track. Brothers favorite afx white Baja bug. And my favorite lime green afx 55. That threw sparks as it moved. I tried my whole life to find out how it would throw the sparks or if had add ons maybe to make sparks. But never did. Still have the 55 and bug bodies. But chassis long gone. My brother has been long gone for couple decades. But 😢 still, I can close my eyes and see my brothers smile and the excitement we shared together racing are slot cars. Are forever in my heart. We always looked at Mail adds or the infamous sears Christmas dream catalog. We would look at the slot car sections. And dream of owning all of them. I hope he can see the collection I have dedicated to him. 500 or 600 cars last time I counted. Gotta be way way more than that now.

Another Good informative video. I would like to add a little info if I may. The TYCO S chassis is a worm gear drive can motor chassis; has TYCO embossed in fairly large letters on the bottom center of the chassis. There were 5 versions or variations of the HP2 Curve Hugger- 1- black with double flux collectors, 2-black with single flux collectors, 3-Silver nylatron like with single flux collectors and closed area for the smaller crown gear and the next(4th) variation with the open area for the larger crown gear. The 5th variation was of a completely new and different chassis design with the same pickup shoe assembly with no motor magnet flux collectors and the dual traction magnets one or each die just under the rear axle. The Marchon ("MAR-SHAWN")MR1 chassis shown was the last 3-5TH variation of the brand. The 1st variation looked exactly like a TYCO HP7 and the 2nd variation had the traction manget parallel to the rear axle. The AFX SP1000 chassis was the same as the Super Magnatraction released in Canada 1982 and possibly for the international market. The back of the packaging reads 1982 AURORA PRODUCTS CANADA LTD. TOMY left AFX a few years ago and no longer affiliated with AFX/Racemasters. AFX is a new company you could say now. Galoob was written to be a 1985 chassis- Lewis GALOOB TOYS must have owned the brand for a short time in between COX & AMRAC it appears. Rokar had one marked M CAR and ROKAR M CAR. also ROKAR made a 1987-88 X-Car that had longer narrow motor magnets.

Tomy's Turbo chassis was great, it's hard to adjust to anything else once you've spent enough time with one. That bar magnet makes it very forgiving around corners, the grip is not binary like a modern split magnet design.
