Wow Dude! Great video! I love Camaros! I had a 67 RS big block back in the late 70's. Lost it in a divorce scraping money together for lawers fees.😢 Your knowledge of thes cars is awesome! Thanks for the stories👍 Subscribed!

I am an older Chevy enthusiast since the 1960's, having owned my share of some of the good ones and I have to rate this KZread channel as the best one for correct and accurate information from a real pro and great presentations of the cars he is discussing. It's a real pleasure to spend time here and walk around the cars with Parker. Very enjoyable and for Chevy guys a real treat of our favorite stuff. Thanks for your great videos.

The ah problems with this is people actually listen and praise these morons. I have I have an OEM convertible RS SS with a non OEM 396 is how I got that car cheap with a blown up motor. It is one rare care with the black top orange outlined black seat interior which we did not replace the seats they are pristine. The motor is a really rare 396 2 4BBL we kept the two side to side mounted Holley carbs and tried to trace the cast iron intake to an MFG which we could not. That was how I got the car in 1985 pristine more or less a scuff on the right front bumper. I replaced the engine made it all correct. Most of these alleged GEMS are altered stuff.... The reasons I go hooyey at this sheet. I have seen these concourse cars and they are all mostly redone not an OEM condition car not all not the belts not the hoses and after all who wants Horse Sheet okay.... This all BS BS... Total garbage. I live this life and know better... Sheet can your praises... We just brought a car home from the grave today.. Right front brake caliper locked up... Guess what it ain't OEM no more... Now go blow smoke up some eleses ass now... Some of these cars R deff enigma cars... Especially when GM made non recorded factory intakes factory brake parts and suspension even sway bar packages U cannot even locate. My RS SS has a rear sway bar... Even after market parts companies did not make that stuff back in the early 80's... In fact they were just coming out with that some of it not all of it.

Damn Brother.... you are a freaking encyclopaedia on Camaros ... Watched the whole video , Loved it ... I have a 69 Camaro 396 ... don't know much about it as i live in Australia and it was only imported around 8 yrs ago .. was 57 paint code but is now yellow ....Has all the chrome around the door sills and gills on the side ...I know it's not a Z28 or a SS .. But I love it none the less ...

that was a speed alert option for a 69 camaro . When I was looking for parts back in the day { late 70s} I found the speed alert .lying on the ground at DOMS auto wreckers in Oshawa, I installed and it worked! you set the dial { which has a seperate needle in the speedometer } and what ever speed you set to when you reach that speed a buzzer alarm will sound off. The light monitoring system was also rare, fold down rear seat, heres another one you could also get a de icing unit installed which sprayed a antifreeze mixture on the rear tires of your Beloved 69 Camaro I had a pair of the original cannisters just couldnt locate de icing unit not that I would want to try this option on this car! Great Video !

This type of video is going to be a great historical record for future generations. I had a friend that lived on my street growing up that had a 68 Chevelle SS396 with a 427 and a 4 speed and there weren't many cars around that could hang with it. I imagine the Camaro with a 427 was even faster. They were absolute monsters on the street.

Parker your explanations and background on Camaros is amazing. Being a Ford fan really like the 1st gen Camaros… just need a good barn find. Thank you keep up the outstanding videos.

Yes that is an 8 track on the center consol of that first Camaro in the video. It was an option. My buddy has a 69 SS 396 with that same option. Bought it back in 95. And the car in your video is only the second Camaro Ive ever seen with it. Great video. Impressive knowledge.

There was a Bill Heard Chevrolet dealer in the Nashville, TN. area until the late 90s/early 2000s

The grump also stated that he was a fan of the mighty z11 impala

My parents bought a 2002 Brickyard 400 pace car replica #22 from Berger Chevy. Great dealership, and history from our home state of MI. They are still in business.

I’m 41 and love this stuff. I can’t afford an old camaro like these but I would love a few of the ones I’ve seen in this video in a collection. I had a 21’ SS 1LE 6spd I loved but nothing cool and old like this. I’d love to get a 70’ some day, definitely my favourite looking camaro.

Back in the late '80s I saw a Camaro for sale at the Pomona swap meet that I've never forgotten. It was a '69 RS/SS 396, 4-speed convertible. Garnet Red with a black top and black interior with the houndstooth cloth inserts. It had the cowl induction hood, rear spoiler, front spoiler and Endura bumper. It had a posi rear, power steering, JL8 4-wheel disc brakes, power windows and power top. It also had the rosewood steering wheel and tinted glass. The paint and interior were original and in really great condition. The original window sticker was on display and the asking price was $25K. Although I was/am a Mopar guy I always liked the first and second gen Camaros. I wish I had bought that one.

WOW 4.88 rear end!!! I thought that the 4.56 rear end I had in my '55 was the lowest gearing ever available. Learned something today!!!

One could also buy gears for the 12 bolt Chevy with 5.13 and 5.38 gearing.. A friend of mine in my USAF years ('68-72) had a yellow/black '69 Z28 and he went thru every gear set from the std 3.73, 4.11, 4.56, 4.88, 5.13, and 5.38 in trying to be the fastest street racer at KAFB!

I had 63Chevy2 a buddy of mine had a 66chevy2 12bolt rear end with 5:57 gears bolted right in car. With slapper bars,4speed and 327/350hp and a Holley 650 2bl 29×9 slicks. 12sec flat@ 110mph.Lot a fun for a street car in the mid 70's

@@jeroldlafferty54 No racetracks. My 55 2dr was stripped out with black fabric everywhere except the VW bucket seats. 409 Edelbrock highriser with 2 Carter 750's Holley headers with cutouts. Top speed 105 but it would burn the Thomson 11" for a block and a half when I shifted into 4th. Never lost a street race.

I owned a 69 Camaro SS back in the early 80's when I was 16 years old. It was a 350, 4 speed & 12 bolt posi car. I blew the engine up & stupidly sold it as a roller to a previous owner of the car. I regret it to this day! I'd give anything to have that car back!! Thanks for all of the awesome videos of the history of these muscle cars, especially the 69 Camaros!!!

You really know your Camaros. Impressed with all the information. I actually owned a 1970. Nothing special other than bought it from the original owner. Had the original paperwork. Red with black interior, auto trans, and 307. Had something like 31k original miles when I bought it...back in 1984.

Love your channel Parker, you are unbelievably knowledgeable about muscle cars. My favorite hobby! Keep the content coming.

@15:10 I believe the vacuum line to the washer motor is there to move the headlight covers on RS to allow for the headlight washers to function properly.

Great walk arounds with good information. What stood out for me was you indicating that some Novas came with 2 fuel lines while others, seemingly more powerful engines, had a single fuel line. hI i HAVE A 69 rs/ss car that was a dealer promotional car with a dealer installed 427 385 h.p.int is a highly optioned car built at los angeles plant in nov 68 it was equipped with i believe is NB2 calif emissions[air injection system it came with a q jet carb and uses 2 fuel lines 1 3/8 line and the other is a 1/4 line return to the tank the return line comes from the top of the fuel filter located directly behind the water pump this filter is normally found on the 325 hp 396 w calif emissions the 427 in my car was installed by the dealer because of a warrenty problem wuth the urig motor , i hope this answers your question on which cars came with 2 fuel lines my car was sold in Uregon at Courtesy Chevrolet in Medford Oregon in mid 1970 when the 2nd gen models were introduced

Someone I went to school with. His parents gave him a 69 RS I believe a 350 in it. It was black with a black interior black out package. Beautiful car!

The "Camro" specific events are the best.

My father had a 67 corvette 427 390 HP. It had what he called a speed alert on the speedometer it could be set at any speed by a knob ( I forget the exact location) under the speedometer. When the car hit that speed it would start buzzing. I haven’t thought of that option for many years. Great video!!

I grew up around these cars and invested all my time into studying numbers and different type of options and rpo codes on 69 camaros. I had a 69 X77 tuxedo black 10 10 car. I still enjoy looking at these cars and decoding them anytime I can.

If the speed control is what I think it is, it’s probably the same setup as the speed control that was option for the c10 trucks in the late 60s . You set the speed you want and when you hit that speed a buzzer goes off

I have had a hand in restoring many Camaros, Chevelles, Corvettes, Impalas, and 55 to 57 Chevys (incl the Peggy Sue got married 58 Impala convertible), Which brings me to the Hockey stick stripe on 69 Camaros. At shows and auctions I have seen many stripes that end at the seem between the fender and the lower valance.. Which we thought was wrong as they should end near the body crease in the valance below the seem. But after seeing them both ways we got to wondering if it was an early/ late thing, or assembly plant variations?

Thanks for shimmers all these deals a lot of grills I didn’t realize had the six and I had the color coated bumpers. I never knew that until you showed it on your shell. Thanks for showing these Camaros since I can’t get off too much I didn’t get out but I can’t go for so thanks for showing the cars.

I'm a 1964-1993 Ford Mustang guru. Ive never been into Chevrolets, but starting this Winter on building my first. I would like to continue my Camaro education and hopefully find myself a rusted hull unicorn that I can rebuild. 😂

Bill Heard I believe was a southern chain of Chevrolet dealers. We had one in Huntsville Alabama. Think they shut down around 2008 after the financial crisis.

I am new to watching your channel. And I saw the reference to the Bill Heard USA Chevrolet. There used to be a Bill Heard USA Chevrolet in Sanford Florida.

The man with the 17,000 mile Camaro talks about the speed control option. It is called speed warning. It is a yellow pointer in the speedometer that you could adjust to your desired speed for the buzzer to come on. And it is a buzzer that gets your attention. The buzzer comes on gradually not simply an on/off.

As a teenager in the 1970s I always remember the lower body blackout was Matt or semi gloss as the rear tail pan on the SS cars..never seen hi gloss..

Sound like you saw this quite often lol there's always some details you never forget when you work on these cars for some time.

Coupes with a folding rear seat had the narrower seat with armrests like the convertible.

I had a Blue 69' SS/RS in 1977 with a 350 - 4 bolt main, trim package, with vinyl roof and no spoiler, custom back-up lights, black custom interior, gauge package, Rosewood accents, a factory tach, no a/c, a 4 speed Muncie with a Hurst Competiton shifter, 12 bolt rear with multi-leaf springs and the rare, optional fold down back seat -- the car was built in Canada! Plus, the driver side rear window DID NOT LEAK/RUST!

One clarification. 1969 Camaros only had armrests in the back seat if they had folding rear seats. 67 and 68 Camaros with deluxe interiors had armrests in the back seat regardless if it was folding or not. All three years convertibles had the armrests in the back seat.

Bill Heard was out of Georgia if I’m not mistaken, they had spread out to north Alabama in the mid 90’s

Love any F Body. Nostalgia. My first car that was my own and not one pops told me to drive was a used 76 Camaro we bought as a dealership trade, as is, December of 77. So needed some tlc and maintenance. Nothing special about it but it was bright orange with a spoiler and looked great cruising main. Girls would ask for a ride and I would pack it full and we would go riding around. Fun

My friend built a clone of Grumpy's '68 using a 454. The difference? It was quicker than the original but was totally streetable with freeway friendly gears.

The man selling the used parts said deluxe interiors had the arm rests in the back seat. They only have the arm rests if it is a folding rear seat.

The Hideaway headlights vacuum does not come from the wiper motor. The wiper motor has two extra hoses that go to the headlamp washers.

I’ve never seen a black z28 with orange stripes. I like it.

At 26:39 (Cortez Silver Z28) Bill Heard USA was a dealer in Atlanta, Ga.

The original Bill Heard Chevrolet was in Columbus Ga. I worked there when I was in high school.

Speed Control was just a reminder buzzer that the driver would set to the speed they did not want to exceed. When they went past the designated speed the buzzer would go off.

I've known Jerry for almost 50 years. We still race together in NHRA Stock.

I had a centerfold out of a magazine of a ZL1 Camaro that had a earlier build date than the so called number one sent to Fred Gibb . That had Berger tags on it .

Years back I had 2 sets of angle plug cylinder heads that belonged to my brother's friend that had a killer 69 Camaro that he street raced back in the 1970s they were known as the north main street racers of Riverside California Allen trivette and his brother were the owners of the Camaro my dad had his original 427 block that he took out before the 69 got repoed the cylinder heads were experimental heads

Awesome video! Tons of information. Tons of great cars. How can you tell if a 69 SS was an original big block car? I have the dual exhaust hanger, the brake valve under the driver door, and the dual fuel lines. I was told it's an original 396 car but what can I look for to make sure?

Motor mounts, transmission cross member, x code behind the rear seat.. 12 bolt, multi leaf rear, heater box, 1 fuel line if 375

There were some copo camaros that did not receive the 427, they retained the 396 and were sold that way… i think yenko did some and baldwin motion

Thanks for the very good knowledge of these cars, on the firewall are there paint stampings on the Camaros and Chevelle SS other question late 69 when somebody orders A car have you recognize the Vin tag is more shorter than a standard car. I’ve owned three1970 Oldsmobile 442 and two of them were standard issue at the dealer made from the factory the third one was ordered and that vin is shorter than the other two, and that car is a 70 W 30 442,4 speed 391 posse no power steering ,no power brakes with a bench seat one of 300. Question why is there so many 69 Camaros with the rosewood steering wheel option and without window sticker or build sheet how do you prove that it came with the car. I know what an original rosewood steering wheel looks like and there's a lot of them that has the rebop wheel. I have an original rosewood steering wheel that I bought back in the 70s. I've had people try to buy it but I've yet to sell it do you have any idea what it's worth, Thanks

No z l 1s. I met a fellow friend in Quebec who owned a zl1 when New. He told me stories of out running Florida troopers in 69. I didn't ask enough questions on what happened to it. I also met another Canadian who owned and raced 1 of 2 69 zl1 corvette s at bowmanville road corse track near Toronto Ontario . The legendary motor car shop had 2 zl1 Camaro s a few years ago. 1 was the orange original engine 1 from I think barret jackson

I use to know a guy in Memphis TN that had one of the original 1967 Z28's. The thing is, his car did not have any provisions for windshield wipers. Has anyone ever hear of that?
