Decluttering our little house bit by bit

In the first part of my upcoming declutter series, I start with decluttering our ridiculous amount of clothes, and make a start on reducing the amount of toys scattered all around the house. I hope you enjoy!

My dear child...I am 67 years old and live in USA . My husband died 6 months ago and my daughters are grown and gone. Enjoy your life even the messy house. You will miss it as I do. God bless you dear! I Had a very small house when children were young so I completely understand. Focus on the good and not the bad. Be happy you can walk and move to clean. I am sending you a hug.

Since I'm a 62 year old Grandmommy, the house doesn't suffer much clutter, but your videos are helping me FINISH cleaning projects that I've started and struggle to complete! They've also helped me keep from beating myself up about a lazy day or starting a project that can't be completed in just one day! The house is way too big now for two old people who's children have all grown and moved out, so it can be very overwhelming. Your voice-overs are very soothing to listen to, and I can truly say they've been such a help!

I love having good smells around me, and I love plug-in flameless wax warmers. I have mine plugged in to the wall above my kitchen counter where the kids can't reach. To change out the scent you just unscrew the light bulb and put the wax warmer in the fridge until the wax hardens. And it pops out with a butterknife! Your videos and your talks are lovely and inspiring. As a Mom with some challenges, your stories resonate with me. Rock on!

Touches my heart to see you cuddling your little Tot, Ike. And you continue sorting thru & folding reams of clothes! Makes me tear up! I wish I’d done more of that with my one & only daughter - though she was a very slow nurser & I’d let her take her time, so she did get held & cuddled - and I did let her nurse until age 4 - last two years was just comfort nursing when she fell or was poorly - still I feel I could have done more cuddling! You go ahead and cuddle your boys as long as you want! No family put on Mom’s gravestone “Her house was always neat & clean!” They put words like loving, caring , beloved Mom. That’s a thank you for all the time spent cuddling.

This video was so relatable. I was holding onto 3 trashbags full of pre-kids clothes. I bawled on the floor while bagging them up, I mean ugly cried. I didn't realize how attached I was to that clothing. It was an unhealthy attachment, one that made me feel like a failure for not getting back into them yet, and an immense amount of guilt for purchasing clothes that I haven't used in years. It was such a freeing experience to finally be done with them while I continue on my journey to healing my body and mind.

Took me four years to get to this point and it’s you who helped me so much. You are not being fancy or putting items away in bought products that are not necessary, with your hair and makeup perfect! Brilliant attitude toward life with wee ones. Ours are grown and on their own now. The first video of yours I watched was you cleaning your auntie’s house. My daughter has a mental illness and recently moved out of the family home she was staying in by herself for 3 years. I was out every 6 months to deep clean and decluttering the space. I’d be exhausted and I couldn’t help it, I felt resentful. It was always such a mess and because I needed to sell it someday to repay the loan, I was anxious that it’d be ruined by her mess. Very similar to your aunts but picture times 10. I’m not well physically so I was just overwhelmed every time I saw her and the mess. I love her to death but it just made me feel like I failed her somehow. Now, because of your videos I’m starting to understand why she couldn’t keep the space clean. Now that the she’s found her dream accommodations, I won’t be cleaning up her again because she’s moved out. I had a cry about that too because I love her, no matter how messy she is. Thank you for helping me understand how her brain works. This understanding is helping me repair our relationship.

@@remiclogI'm a neurodivergent kinda gal myself, a mum, anxious, adhd, creative type and you're the only cleaner who motivates me. So much that I have yet to visually watch ⌚ video. Ha😂 I actually move and am able to get things done. I love the story you told in one video about yr dad. He made the affirmation app, you said, and I thought, so has she!!! Your dad must be so proud of you, love! You send us all such powerfully motivating and grounding messages that remind us to appreciate our messy lovely lives, to do the mundane little acts for family with love. Ignore any negatives as best you can, bc the good you're doing is coming back to you, I'm sure of it. I hope you make this a full career! You're gonna go far, and you may not realize that 31 is young but it really is! I love to hear you talk. My late mother in law was born in Liverpool. She came to the states and raised 10 children. The youngest of which is my husband of 20 years! I miss her voice so much and listening to you reminds me so much of her. Little words she'd say....for so many reasons you're a salve or a balm to my rough adhd, anxious brain. Hugs from the US. ❤ prayers for safety protection happiness and abundance to you! ❤ this was so long. 😂 hope you see it. But being adhd myself is understsnd if you never get to respond. It's more important that you hear love back than anything.

I am having to do a huge "cleanout". I've had to combine my house with my parents. And I have a major mess that has been going over 3 years. My mom went into the nursing home and my Dad was not able to live alone. I'm an only child and happen to be single with only my youngest son (who is 44 and developmentally delayed and partially physically handicapped) living with me. Did I mention that I'm 65?...lol! So it was just something I had to do. But decluttering and downsizing gets so overwhelming to me. Even though I want to do it, it gets daunting! Not only do I take care of my son and father, but I worked a full time job from my home. Fortunately, I worked for my son and took care of the bookwork for his businesses. Watching your videos and hearing what you have to say about putting our life first has really hit home to me. I finally got to retire from working because my son found a fabulous secretary that I felt comfortable knowing she would take care of his businesses as I felt they needed to be. So, I am trying to slow down and take life a little more as it comes and trying to stop stressing about what is not done. Thank you young lady, for the encouragement that you give everyone!

I took your advice and donated my clothes I don’t wear anymore thinking I will get down to that size but at 77 years old it probably won’t happen. I donate to battered women missionary place. I felt better knowing they were so excited to received them and some had never been worn. I got rid of so much that my closet it beautiful. I might even do more, I don’t work and I’m home most of the time except Church etc. so don’t need as much. Your declutter helps a lot of people keep up the great work I enjoy your voice on the voice over you touch my heart. God bless you girl coming from a little town in the USA state of Washington

My 3 year old insists on mismatched socks. My husband put some on him last night while he was sleeping, and he woke up just enough to ask, "are they mix match?" 😂

Thankyou so much for your videos, im going through my menopause and getting stressed out about my house and keeping on top of everything was impossible and I was sinking in to depression, you have lifted me and give me the motivation to carry on,there are professional people out there that have passed lots of exams to help people with depression, and they can't do what you have done for so many people you are a beautiful person and I wish you and your family a wonderful life ❤ ❤

Another lovely video, Remi Dear.... Where does the clutter come from !!! LOL. I did a massive declutter 2 years ago and find I need to do another one. You'd think at 80 I'd have it all together but not so. Love to laugh with you and I do admire you so much. Your hair is so very beautiful..Fondly, Dorothy. Edmonton, Alberta. Canada.

You are absolutely lovely. I am a 50 year old woman ,living in Alaska, going through menopause. I cannot tell you how wise and beautiful you are. You inspire me. You have mentioned menopause in a different video. You absolutely validated me. I appreciate you. I wish you all your hearts desire, you are such a blessing. Cleaned my whole home, which needed it, whilst listening, you even comment on people who just listen. Funny is I am also profoundly deaf, I use a hearing aid adaptation on my phone to listen while I clean after having been in bed for 2 weeks from depression. Keep up the good work. This world needs more of you. Thank you. I appreciate you.

Dear Jennifer, i am peri menopausal and what hit me like a tonne of bricks was fatigue, depression and the absolute will to do nothing. i just curl up in bed feeling bad for days, i have a million things to do, and i don't do it. Remi has been my motivation of late, and another thing, it turns out i have severe vitamin deficiencies. so do test yourself for anything u are low on, b12, d, hb. it will make a huge impact on your mood and energies if you address these ! also do try and exercise daily, a 15 min walk outdoors will help too !

Just found your channel. I've been struggling with depression and anxiety and having troubles with keeping on top of the mess in my home from time to time. I want to say thank you for being so open and honest with your struggles. It inspires me to declutter myself. My tips for the lost socks thing is to put all the used socks in one of those laundry bags used for bra for example and put all of it into the laundry.

You have been a huge inspiration for me, thank you. Just recently got my biggest boost ever. My cousin called me last minute as his camping site had fallen through. Can I not only put up him, but his mate? Yes, (mate on an air mattress in different unfurnished room). My furnished guest room was already clean with fresh sheets!!!! Well....he's been spreading it around the family that my home is spotless (bless him). Not really true, but the fact that he gets this impression is largely due to your motivational channel. With two very hairy dogs, and my life time of being a messy person, I feel very, very encouraged. Thank you, you are truly making a difference.
