Declining health - Why I have not uploaded climbing content in a while

May 15th 2024
Health is not really in good shape both physically and mentally and worried about what comes next after I come back to London in about 3 weeks.
Thankful for all the support on my ko-fi so far, you made things possible

You're not a failure!! That fact that you're trying is something to be celebrated. It makes sense that you're anxious and feel hopeless -you're taking on a big challenge and a lot of risk! I'm just a stranger on the internet, I can't tell you if it will all work out. But after all the effort you've put in just to get here... there's nothing lost. You're LIVING to the fullest extent. 頑張って!

Hello, kind stranger 🙏 This video of yours popped up in my feed today, thanks to the YT algorithm. Just want you to know that you’re not alone. I’ll soon be 34 in June, and, about a month after my 32nd Birthday, I began suffering from absence seizures. I have a lot of neurological issues, many of which I am still working out. I feel faint, dizzy, and disoriented nearly every day. I live my days at the mercy of my own body. I can never truly make plans, as my body has plans of its own that may or may not be in alignment with what I wanted to do. These past two years have been a grieving process. I long for and grieve over my healthier self. Please do not call yourself a loser. Neither of us are losers. We are examples of why they say to live every day as best as you can, because things can change in an instant. Things have changed for us, and yes, it can be terrifying sometimes. But we’ve made it this far, we will overcome these obstacles too. Listening to you speak passionately of climbing made my day :) I miss hiking, and cannot do much of it at present. I would love to know more about what you are currently facing, but understand if you do not wish to share that. I am here sending you good wishes ❤ I hope your channel becomes monetized. I will subscribe after I post this comment :) Take care ❤❤❤

Don't call yourself a loser. You didn't choose your illness. I hope you find a way to earn money, makeable in your physical situation. Don't forget, you are valuable and precious. Best wishes from Germany 💞🙏

Casey the fact that you're able to travel and are so passionate about doing what you do is the opposite of being a loser. I am about to be 43 next Tuesday (or as I call it, season four episode three) and I've been living day-to-day for a long while now over here in Taiwan. I had to leave a horrible job and district late last year and have been struggling to land a good school. While I've been accepted into one city's public school program I still haven't been offered a contract and the finances are in rough shape. I don't know where exactly I'll end up for the next job but I know it definitely won't be here in Tainan where I am currently. Not a day has gone by in the past few months where I haven't been accosted by anxieties and worries over what happens next. The only certainties I can hold on to are that I have been treated far better here by the government offices than I ever was in Korea and that I want to be here. Neither of us are where we want to be in life. But the fact that we can still get up in the morning and keep trying is a blessing. Take care of yourself cousin and keep pushing forward.

You’re not alone. My life is on pause too. I’ve been dealing with chronic foot pain from an injury that prevents me from doing anything I care about without being in more agony than it’s worth. Been dealing with it every day and night for over 1.5 years now.

I have long covid going on year five now so really get this 🥹 I am sorry you are having worsening health. I knowhow scary it is when the body is in charge. You’re definitely not a loser or a failure - it’s the sociopolitical systems that have failed all of us. It’s not popular but since covid has ruined my life I urge everyone I know to n95 mask 😷. Cvd is bad for all of us and I want you to be safe too. I have really similar symptoms to what you describe. All of us who are disabled (i dont know if you identify, i do) must work together to make lives of solidarity together. 🙏🙏 Wishing you all best. Please say kind things to yourself. We need you here 💗

As someone who has anxiety disorder that comes and goes, I think I share some of those feelings of being a failure or loser, probably in a different way than you tho. But lately I’ve learned to be a lot more careful with what I say out loud during difficult times. just to not give those feelings a chance to spiral into a real monster. I find that helps. ❤

Thanks for the sub! I hope that you are enjoying my content even though I know its not good :) I am not Japanese, I am Filipino but I am originally from London, UK I happen to be in Japan for outdoor climbing and training as I went all in on my climbing. And I do hope so my plan is to really kind of implement KZread into my "all in" approach and work towards monetising it so I am able to support my climbing career

@@lostinfailure I went all in on martial arts in Korea, but I suddenly became too ill at the age of 30 to continue. I had to find an alternative way of life, and while my current life is still not my first choice, I've understood that it's important to learn how to cope and to make the best of an imperfect situation.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 Keep up the good work!
