Witness the best right hand in flatpicking. mindblowing how fluently and almost tension free Bryan is picking. Makes me want to practise&play

If anybody is interested in learning this song for themselves, you can get a tab and sheet music transposition of his recorded version from a book called "Flatpicking Guitar Masterpieces"

Somewhere, Clarence White is smiling. Of course, Clarence and Roland preceded Tony and Sam, but they're all so astonishingly good.... I've been gigging for 46 years, and I don't belong in the same room as these guys, unless I'm in the audience. Holy mother of pearl!

Well - almost, but not quite, *too* fast. Past a certain speed, a tune like this with a great melody gets hidden its own haste -- or something like that. Still loved it. These guys are THE BEST.

Is this the Bourgeouis Banjo Killer that Bryan is playing on this song?

Gotta say melody gets buried in fast and flash. That happens too much in bluegrass instrumentals in my humble opinion.

yeah but these melodies are often so simple and have been played so much that they can support it.

@@monologtube I disagree with him saying this happens too much in bluegrass instrumentals, but the problem with this song is that it's melody is minor pentatonic licks, and improvising variations over minor penatonic licks doesn't work well.
