Finally! It is so beautiful to find someone who actually takes the time to feel and enjoy all the wonderful music beetwen those notes. Thank you Inga.
Most pianists would play this at such fast speeds but the way you play it evokes the piece's tranquil and serene atmosphere as if the listener were in a secluded place with the beautiful view of mountains and the sky. 👏 This is amazing work.

I agree. This interpretation is on another level altogether. The slower, deliberate pace.. the dynamics.. the way she is phrasing it.. she is just speaking this piece from a deeper place here. It’s honestly amazing. So thankful for KZread and the internet so that I get to experience things like this lol
So much anger, negativity, suffering in the world today. And then you hear something like this, and it all fades away. At least for a few minutes the world is a wonderful place.

Congratulations, a wonderful performance of this timeless, beautiful piece of music that touches the soul at it's core.
I feel like most people who play Debussy want to show off their own technical skill by rushing through the heavy parts instead of allowing each note the space it deserves. Thanks for slowing it down so we can hear the true beauty in this music.

Memories of another time, soften by decades past, hurts smoothed over by time, until only the good remains, glistening like raindrops and dew, blurred and unfocused into gauzelike images.
I love how the other musicians look at her enthralled. This is my favorite piano piece.
I do hope inga can make it to Liverpool one day. Her playing is par excellence, without equal on arabesque. Thoughts?
I have heard the song millions of times but she plays it in a way that makes me feel as if im a little boy in the movie and the poor girl is playing piano in the church and i watch from a far as i cant take my eyes off of the beauty......amazing.....i could mever interpret it as well as you have💖

Not rushed and done with perfect timing. Lovely notes rising and filling the air like little stars then busting like bubbles. A impressionistic masterpiece from Debussy and wonderfully done by Inga Fiolia.

Wonderful played , Debussy would love to hear this!
Stay with whoever looks at you as the cellist looks at the pianist ♥️
Non mais personne ne parle du jeune homme qui regarde avec passion la belle pianiste! On dirait un extrait de film d’amour sur une si belle musique romantique!!🙊
This melody stuck with me trought the years, it was the intro music of a children tv show I used to watch when i was 6. Everytime I hear this i'm back on the living room floor watching tv, camly hearing, fascinated, a strange but beautiful melody. For 6 minutes I'm 6 again.
Sumptuous. Velvety. Dreamlike. Slow. Contemplative. Sheer beauty. 👏. Bravo

I think I’ve watched this like 100 times 💕💕
I like this tempo.
Absolutely stunningly played by Inga... Every detail. And, my opinion, Mister Debussy's "Arabesque No. 1" is one of The most beautiful piano solo pieces ever composed. Her tempo here is absolutely beautiful, but because this is such a lovely piece, it also sounds perfect at faster tempos. As an examply, thirteen year-old Lucy Illingworth performed it last summer at the Royal Festival Hall in London, during a broadcast of a television special, "The Piano", in which five finalist pianists performed and were judged by pianist Lang Lang and British singer Mika, and they chose her as the most outstanding. All the more incredible, since Lucy has been Completely blind and also autistic since birth. But there is a piano genius in that little girl's body and brain, as acknowledged by both Lang Lang and Mika, as well as her fellow pianists. And the quicker tempo in which she played the Arabesque, as well as the lovely movement of her head, back and forth as she plays, are Lucy telling everyone, "This is Me! I'm in here, behind my sightless eyes and the autistism you see!" Inga's and Lucy's versions of Mister Debussy's masterpiece are, to me, the loveliest I have ever heard, or am likely to hear. And as Lucy's amazing piano tutor since she was three years old, Daniel Bath (who is almost always leading Lucy to the piano and then sitting next to her when she performs in public, as in the video which I have included here), stated after her performance of "Arabesque" that evening, when an interviewer asked him, backstage, if it made him emotional, he answered, "Yes, it did! But, mind you, Lucy's playing Always has that effect on me. Makes you glad to be alive, really!" Likewise for Claude Debussy's lovely piano compositions. 💖😊 kzread.info/dash/bejne/pXmk0M-xp66_qrg.htmlsi=YYJ-_yIiui-_XpQU
Thank you for slowing down as much as you dared, there is power in gentleness. It was interesting watching the other musicians reactions to the way you played this piece, a piece they must be so familiar with, you even took them by surprise and then they just settled into your tempo with you. It was lovely.
Tout simplement merveilleux... Sans vitesse excessive....
I love this version. After 10 months of listening to this version + working on the piano sheet, I am able to play it. There are still some part of the piece I do not master but nothing would have been possible without you sharing this moment. So many many thanks.
One of three of my favourite performances of Arabesque No. 1 (the others being Paul Barton’s and Héloïse de Jenlis’)! I don’t want to focus on how it’s “supposed to be played” but personally, I appreciate this piece and absorb emotions more when musicians take their time to play it.
words cannot describe how beautiful this was, I cried
This is my favourite performance of this piece. You nailed it!
This performance is simply captivating. Inga plays this piece so relaxed, so beautifully, the listener is wrapped in a feeling and emotion of tranquility. I think perhaps too, the Gentleman Cellist, is secretly in love with her, but then he does have very good taste.
Claude Debussy is one of my most loved composers. I have listened to this Arabesque "played" but never "felt" in such a way as this!!!!! I have listened to your rendition over and over because it is superbly and expertly performed in such ways as to create so many emotions in me!!!!!! My belief is that even Debussy himself would be enraptured and moved by your rendition!!!!! My great thanks to you for this extraordinarily poignant and beautiful piece, Maestra!!!!! Brava!!!!!!

I am very happy to read your nice comment. Thank you very much.
After listening to her incomparable performance , I might have a dream of Debussy watching her splendid performance . Didn't Debussy himself have the characteristic back view that I saw in the crowds of effulgent Paris ? I feel a vague sense of nostalgia in this masterpiece . Her fabulous performance invites me into the unfathomably comfortable world, After listening to her unsurpassed performance , I might have a dream of Debussy watching her splendid performance From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
Thank you for this beautiful, and slower, performance of one of my favorite Debussy pieces. I love playing it, and it is also one of my favorite teaching pieces for my students. I play it almost the same tempo as you, maybe a little faster sometimes (depending on my mood!), but I let it 'breathe', and push and pull the phrases. You made my day - thank you. :)
Un placer escucharte.................abrazo desde Argentina.

The piece is a winner. But when played by such lovely pianist, it is rather special.
why youtube shows this video to me as advertising... I watched advertisement and come here because i want to tell this performance is very good.
I feel like this is what Debussy had in mind when he composed this. He was a master composer of utilizing the space between the notes, and Inga is a masterful interpreter of it, and you can hear in her playing how much she loves the music that she plays.
Marvellous!!! So much feeling in her interpretation. One of my favorite renditions of the piece.
I listen to this without watching the video! I just sit back and take in the talent and feel of this top draw performance, as good as perfect by my ears. 🎼 🎶
5 seconds in and i'm in another world completely... This rendition just overcomes you, nothing less then a spectacular interpretation of the piece.
Whoever the violin person who was sitting on your left, was very lucky to have direct view on your fingers playing the keys.

The piece and the performance both carry so much emotion. Thank you for bringing this beauty into the world.
Such an interesting and refreshing interpretation. The choices made in regards with the tempi and dynamics are unusual and bring out aspects of the melody as well as Debussy's beautiful harmony I'd never quite noticed before.

Wonderful!
I love this piece. I'm arning this piece and I love her interpretation
Look beyond the mesmeric respect of the bow-tied cellist facing her, or the spellbound black-dressed concertmaster sitting to her left. At 43 seconds, at the left of frame, an oriental musician cranes her head forward into shot to take a breathtaking glance. And that symbolises the total majesty of this performance. Seeing world class musicians savour something special by homing in on another level of excellence lifts this performance beyond the pianist, the instrument, the orchestra, the venue, the audience......all of those elements come together to produce an experience that is all about the music. What could be finer than that?
i feel like this song can start to lose a bit of its charm when played quickly, taking the time with it like here makes it so much more dream like
Wow! so wonderful Arabesque. feel like living in the dream. I like it so much.
