Lyrics:
There was a time when
Broken hearts and broken dreams
Were over
There was a place where
All you could do was
Wish on a four-leaf clover
But now is a new time
There is a new place
Where dreams just can't come true
It started the day when I left you
I could never love again the way that I loved you
I could never cry again like I did when I left you
And when we said goodbye
Oh the look in your eyes
Just left me beside myself without your heart
(Without your heart)
I could never love again now that we're apart
When I was sorry
It was too late to turn around
And tell you so
There was no reason
There was no reason
Just a foolish beat of my heart
I could never love again the way that I loved you
I could never cry again like I did when I left you
And when we said goodbye
Oh the look in your eyes
Just left me beside myself without your heart
(Without your heart)
I could never love again now that we're apart
Oh, can't you see I'm not fooling nobody
Don't you see the tears are falling down my face?
Since you went away
Break my heart, you slipped away
Didn't know I was wrong
Never meant to hurt you now you're gone
I could never love again now that we're apart
(Now that we're apart)
I could never love again now that we're apart

@AlfredoMarchiquita-rc3pe, sadly, they can now only be found on KZread.
We were blessed to have grown up the 80’s and heard the music from these “teen idols” like Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. They were nothing like today’s young artists that try to be “cool” and are raunchy, immoral, vulgar, half naked, etc. No tattoos, body piercings, plastic surgery, just humble ordinary teen girls who behaved and dressed like the rest of us, and were clean, chaste, upright, and were beautiful and sexy, but wholesome! Plus they were incredibly talented singers who were genuine and sincere with their music. They were great role models for other teens, and this is what we desperately need now days with the direction that society is heading.

Do you remember the first time you heard Foolish Beat by Debbie Gibson? I do. It was the song that broke my heart and healed it at the same time. The song that made me feel the pain and joy of love like never before. The song that taught me how to be strong and vulnerable, how to forgive and move on, how to love again. Foolish Beat is not just a song, it's a masterpiece. A timeless classic that speaks to the soul of every lover who has ever felt the foolish beat of their heart. Debbie Gibson - "Foolish Beat" In June of 1988, Gibson -- not yet 18 -- made history when this song topped the Hot 100. In leading the charts that week, she became the youngest person to sing, write, and produce a number one hit all by herself. (She still holds the Guinness record among women.) The ballad performance was one of her most heartbreaking, allowing this Debbie Gibson song to strike an emotional reaction to the listener.

@@dundee6402 My friend, the early to mid 80s did feature lots of classic ballards. In fact, it was during that period the original ballards were being released. And just because people hardly remember most of them doesn't change that fact. Artists like Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, George Benson, Air Supply, Kool and the gang, etc., had most of their songs of that era in the early to mid 80s. Also: Woman in love-Barbra Streisand-80 Never too much-Luther Vandross-81 Never gonna let you go-Sergio Mendes-83 Ain't Nobody- Chaka Khan-83 After All-Al Jarreau-84 Careless Whisper-George Michael/Wham-84 Those are just a few examples out of my memory. I am an 80s child and miss it a lot in spite of the bad memories. But I had many good memories too. I wish we had a time machine to go back..

Patricia Garcia this and NKOTB's 'the right stuff' music video.
Y pensar que en los 80 no me iba a imaginar que en 2023 dedicará está canción y me tocará aún más en el alma ❤️🔥wao canción que nunca muere y siempre se queda en nuestros corazones 💗💗
Back in 1999/2000, when I & my siblings were on holidays from secondary school, & were looking through our collection of old VHS tapes. We found one named- So-2-So: Best of Blues. This video was among its collection of mostly blues/rock/funk hits from the '80s. Including The Greatest Love (Whitney Houston), Imagine (John Lennon), Must Have Been Love (Roxette), Papa Don't Preach (Madonna), Eternal Flame (The Bangles), Careless Whisper (George Michael), Love Will Lead You Back (Taylor Dayne), Lonely Rivers Flow (Ghost soundtrack), Nothing's Gonna Change My Love (Glenn Medeiros), We Are the World (USA for Africa), etc. We watched the heck out of that video cassette😂. Now, 23/24 years later thanks to KZread I can relive the memories.🥰
A beautiful song and beautiful time! I miss you !
Debbie was Taylor Swift of the late 80s/early 90s. Thanks to this song she received Guinness Book of World Record for the youngest singer to write, produce, and perform a number-one single on her own. Even Taylor (for all her talents) couldn't beat that.

Taylor swift is shit Debbie Gibson was pure talent end of story comparing her to Taylor swift something wrong with you !! Lol
this song is full of feelings. like an outburst when losing a love that was already something guaranteed. And a void is created in us.💔

La amo saludos desde Medellín colombia
..It's sometime in the summer of 1989, I'm 15 years old.. hanging out in my room listening to this on my boom box and crying over my boyfriend who had just broken up with me. My young heart was completely broken. Haha! Young love! I remember thinking I'd truly never love again. 😅
she wrote, produced, and preformed this at 17 and went no. 1 on billboard… HER MIND!
damn, i'm still inlove with her voice and beauty
I remember my childhood friend...who give electrify dance also..during the feast of our baranggay..she is graceful girl..every young girl there dancing this beat!
Most beautiful voice most beautiful song. I love it
