DEB4 Deburring Tool for Plastic Pipe Demonstration - Reed Manufacturing
One easy revolution of REED exclusive DEB4 deburrs and produces a 15° external chamfer in seconds. DEB4 deburrs the outside of the pipe only to allow easy assembly into fittings. It fits comfortably in one’s hand for a secure grip. As an alternative to hand turning, there’s a ½” square drive pocket on the backside for use with a ratchet wrench. DEB4 creates a smooth, chamfered pipe end so solvent can be spread evenly for pipe joining. Aluminum die-cast DEB4 deburring tool features a hardened steel blade that is reversible, sharpenable and replaceable. Fits six nominal pipe sizes of PVC, CPVC, ABS and PP up through 4” diameter.

Has anyone used this before? I cannot get it to do anything on 4” abs. It’s barely shaving off 1mm of pipe in some areas and others it doesn’t shave anything off

Would you like to speak with someone about the DEB4? Normally, users are very happy with DEB4 performance. Perhaps there is an issue with the blade?

It states its for PVC plastic....ABS is a different type of plastic therefore this chamfering tool doesn't fit your application

Hey did they send you a new tool or help you correct the problem? I just got one and I'm having the same problem it hardly shaves anything
What about deburring the inside of the pipe. So wipes and other stuff doesn’t get stuck

For internal deburring, REED offers several solutions such as PDEB250, DEB2, DEB1IPS-INT and even DEB0. They would be used in conjunction with the DEB4. And, here is to hoping that wipes become less of a problem in the future.

If at all possible, warm up the end of the plastic pipe before you use the DEB4.
