You guys should invent a powered version that cuts up to 4-inch PVC.

Watch Reed’s video it only needs to be about three revolutions if you put enough pressure on the cutting wheel. It’s actually really quick if you apply more pressure on the tube cutter from the beginning. I used the tube cutter like I was cutting copper and it took a long time when applying light pressure to began with. That’s when I re watched Reeds video again and paid attention and now it takes about three revolutions to get it cut.

I'll give it a try next time. I find that the three and especially 4-inch pipe is hard to prevent from spinning in my hand if I apply too much pressure. 2-inch cuts fast, though. Do you have the same issue?

I really like the tubing cutter because it creates less mess as opposed to using the saws-all. I've cut with the saws-all over buckets and fan boxes to try to contain the mess. But inevitably all that plastic "saw dust" gets everywhere, including on the inside of the pipe. Do you know about how long or how many cuts one of the cutting wheels last? I may be investing in a tubing cutter soon. Thanks for the great video and the links!

I replaced my cutting wheel after shooting this video. The one used in the video is about six months old. The new cutting wheel cuts about 30% faster. It's also quicker for me to cut while I'm kneeling on the ground as opposed to holding it for a video. I won't go back to a Sawzall.

When I think of a chop saw, I think of the gas-powered ones my dad has always used. What make and model do you use? I'd like to check it out. Thanks!@@RKM0069
