I definitely agree there's a wonderful balance of holding your hand but also letting you figure things out on your own. The beacon will show you the general area of your objective but you still have to investigate and puzzle solve. Equally helps from getting too frustrated but also presenting a good challenge! @@rayromano6249 I disagree, I think video game review scores are pointless most of the time because there are so many different genres and people have drastically different tastes, and these game journals don’t always have the same reviewers. Doing a review like this where they give you the pros and cons of a game is way better in terms of helping people decide if it’s something they want to buy, instead of debating about whether the score is justified.

This game exceeded my expectations! I considered the first dishonored one of my favorite games ,I’m about 10 hours in and it’s Quickly becoming my favorite game. It takes some of the best mechanics from games, like Hitman, Dishonored and dark souls and feels very smooth and fluent

I LOVE this game! I was really worried about the timer aspect, but I quickly realized it is well made. Yes, you are on a timer, but you have control of how it progresses. God I love it.. I was SO relieved to figure out that you can save stuff between runs after doing some work.. such a unique game!

Ive played Uncharted 2 and 4 like 5 times each, beat Resident Evil 4 more times than I can count, Dishonored 1 and 2 like 3 times each, Hollow Knight, Bloodborne

I loved this game. Took me 20 hours to complete because I love exploring, but I still haven't fully discovered everything

Finally picked this up last night. I was drawn to it because it looked very original and different. That's not easy to do in this day and age. The game does do a lot of explaining at the first. It was like watching Inception where they explain everything. Very fun though, highly recommended!

I have been looking forward for this game for a LONG time so I was also looking forward for this video! I was hyped for it since the first trailer with that awesome "Nowhere to Run" remix and thought the premise was very interesting. The dishonored series will always be some of my all time favorite games, this game hadn't been really on my radar but now I know I gotta have it.

I think the PvP is one of the best features. It's a proper piece of psychological combat as well just shooting. I've out thought Julianas. Booby trapped her expected route and had Julianas outthink me. The human intelligence makes this very challenging at times. Another feature is the dynamic loop stress, that scales up the enemies depending on Colt's current loadout.

To me this game looks like one of those "wait until its 50% off" titles. Looks pretty fun, although I don't know if I'd like it as much as something like Rift Apart, Returnal, or RE8.

Brilliant Video as Always. I'm loving the Game so far, Its not what I expected the game would be, & that did worry me when I started playing it. there was a good hour or so when I was constantly asking myself "Am I Enjoying this?" The narrative really gripped me thought I I kept playing because I wanted to see where it was going. Very much looking forward to seeing when the rest of the game has in store.

The concept of the game works so well with the way arkane designs it’s games. Replaying the same levels over and over, learning more and challenging yourself is built into the game. As the main character becomes more knowledgeable about world, so do you. This is why you find people that say they Love dishonored when others who just played through once will think it’s a good game but nothing special.

This game was not on my radar, but it looks really cool! However, I've seen that the Anti-Piracy software is breaking it hard on Steam, with many people suffering terrible lag. And the only other platform it is available on is PS5, which still is not available for sale in Europe yet (a year after launch). So I would love to try it, just wish they released this on PS4, XB1 (like isn't this a Bethesda game that is owned by Microsoft?)

and also the performance on pc is very wonky, so I'd say buy a ps5 if that were possible in 2021. I also don't mind they recycled the teleport from d1 and and domino from d2 cause if you're already familiar with those then using them in deathloop, and especially the mastery of teleportation is a must for some.

Thank you for this. Originally I was like eh whatever it looks cool but not for me but the way you explained it just makes it just for me

i got a ps5 a month or 2 back and finally got around to playing this game. I actually really like it. Was never a huge fan of dishonored, but i dig this one a lot. I really like the character interactions though i do think its a bit weird how theres next to no space in between the banter between Colt and Juliana, like theyre talking on 2x speed. Also the bug where you get stuck in the menus is still there.

Your videos are becoming a necessity before I purchase any game. I enjoy your enthusiasm, professional criticism and courage to tell it like it is about some games I’ve watch you review in the past without worrying about reprisal from developers or mouthy gamers like myself. As much as I loved this review it doesn’t sound like this game is for me, you explained a LOT of stuff you have to do and while I’m not opposed to a lot of game work this seems a lot like Bioshock with a dash of rougelite which isnt my cup of Coors Banquet beer lol. GREAT video 👍🏻

They put some real love into this game.

Something I'd like you guys address in these "before you buys" specifically with Playstation 5 is the haptics, trigger effects/jamming of guns and how all that feels. Also, I would like to know what version you are playing....patched...unpatched, that way when we see these "before you buys" the table is set for where a game is involving flaws and if you used a patch or not. These are great and helpful videos and sincerely, thank you for creating them.

This game looks like a ton of fun! I’ve actually never played an Arkane game, so I’ll play those first(by the time I get around to Deathloop the exclusivity will probably be up and any bugs will be gone). I’m looking forward to Dishonored, I plan to do a pacifist run for the “good ending” and then a second run where I get to have fun and screw around with super powers.

Eghh IV been playing for 2 days now...being brutally honest here and please listen to me....I already feel no need to finish the game and I'm already back to playing call of duty. Wait for it to go on sale. People tend to over sale things that are just decent these days. It's not really worth the price if your really looking to be entertained. Everything in this game has been done before. And I literally mean that. It's a 6 out of 10 game. It's average. And anyone that disagrees is straight up suffering from nothing to playism. Wait for the more honest reviews from content creators to come out. Guarantee they will be saying exactly what I just said. It's alright. A shelf game. Nothing you will ever pick back up after your done with it.

It’s really good and that’s coming from someone who only plays 3rd person melee games

This looks so cool, I loved Prey and the Dishonored games, so I can't wait to play this

Dude, you hit it right on the nail my thoughts exactly! I bought the game at launch and I’m just getting into it, to many good games, but yeah at first the beginning walkthrough of instructions makes it confusing and drags to loooong. I stuck through it and it’s a good thing I did because the games aight, minus a soft lock bug and no keyboard mouse support, it’s an okay game 8/10.

Im loving the time loop games. The whole concept is amazing

definitely looks like something i'll pick up once i have a PS5. i've been stoked about this game since they announced it.

Just got this game and became a subscriber now I’m going to try this game thanks for explaining so I don’t go in blind

makes me think of we happy few but with guns, its nice to see a game that gives you a nice feeling of nostalgia

This is such an unique game concept! Arkane is amzing! And jake, you did explain the concept well. I didnt get it properly when it was first announced.

Can’t wait to play this tonight. And to see the marketing campaign end finally. 💀😭

About a couple hours into it and honestly this game is fun af. I was interested in it when I saw it on the PS5 reveal last year and I was right on my hype. I think arkane did a damn good job on this game. And it's pretty too in quality or performance mode. Didnt notice alot of framedrops, loads pretty quick and the pacing is nice. Not gonna give it a number yet since I havent beat it, but as of now I am gonna say that I recommend this to any PS5 or PC owner.

Gets boring after a while. Seems like a game that just holds you over until some9better comes out. Probably the reason why it's been discounted for 6 months on ps5 store before release.

@@user-qz3hb9kk5u Ehhh, i mean personally i tend to agree with smaller individual review outlets over big companies. But IGN is usually spot on with 10/10s. That being said im waiting to see for any updates regarding AI

Ign 10/10 Gamespot 10/10 Eurogamer 5/5 Arkane must be on to something with this game.

Appreciate the review. I’m not one to typically listen to what companies (like IGN for example) have to say. I tend to disagree with the majority of their reviews for better or worse. So it’s nice to see someone cutting through the hype and giving a good, but still honest review of the game.

They've been talking about this game for so long, I feel like I've already played it.

At this rate, I'll be in Neverending loop trying to find a PS5..

idk if it’s just me but I love the commentator, always thought he sounded like Jesse Eisenberg in these before you buy videos 😂

Love this game so much. I loved how mad the pvp elements made me with the random invasions. It took me sometime but I figured out how to hunt Juliana like Predator with cloak.

I loved Prey, so I've been interested in Deathloop too. Definitely seems like a game to try out at one point.

Was waiting for this. Lol I refuse to watch reviews from other channels now.

Looking forward to playing this game when it is out of the exclusivity window... But gotta wait and see if we are going to maybe see it on Game Pass too.

Just picked this up on sale for $26! Can't wait to get into it.
