I absolutely loved this game on PS4. I would get off work at 3pm, get home, put some music or KZread videos on in the background, get some snacks, and play. Before I knew it, it was midnight. Eventually, I platinumed it and had to move on but, I had so much fun with this game, but, I will admit, it's not for everyone. If you don't like slow paced games, alot of tedium, alot of trekking around back and forth, constantly managing stuff, etc you won't like it. Virtually all of my friends on PSN who got it, if you look at their trophies they got through the introduction and chapter 1 or 2 and then quit. What do I mean by "tedium"? even something as basic as walking around requires you to constantly be aware of what you're doing.

Wandering through the wasteland I learned a lot about myself and over the course of 220 hours a person tends to overthink what Kojima was really getting at. When you look at this game it’s like Westworld. Kojima can see who the players really are as people through their actions in this game. If I were him I would have treated this like a Willy Wonka thing and taken people from every country that has played this and used the platform as a commentary that the world isn’t all bad. There’s a ton of good people and when he did that it would be revealed that these people come from all different backgrounds yet when given the same choices they chose to help others when they didn’t need to. It’s a missed opportunity in my view. One that is a surprise by a guy like this.

I finished it on Ps4, and I've been contemplating to come back to it for the relaxing aspect of navigating large landscapes, but I agree that the enemies that blocks your way do tend to remove a bit of the fun when you know how easy they are to avoid or handle. The story is still amazing for what it is. This game can come off as heavy handed at times with its dialogue but it definitely has something compelling to say. The game has long cutscenes in places and get story sorta slow but it gets to a point in the last few hours where everything is extremely complexing and emotional beautiful in the end of it all. It really all does make sense at the end and I would say pretty satisfying.
As a PC gamer I never feel I have to wait for ports like this my back catalog is so full of games. So when games like this one come out its just a nice plus.

@Theosis And what? It's gamplay and story more interesting than any other games I played.
The people who call this game a walking simulator are the ones who either didn’t play the game at all or only played for a little bit. This is the type of game you need serious patience for and it gets better as you go. I had to put in around 30 hours until I started to appreciate it and understand everything about it. They needed to do a way better job of explaining things to you so its not such a huge learning curve. To sum it up, this game ain’t for you if you need instant gratification.

@@camel6104 depends on the person because I understood the story from the get-go. Imo this isn't a game for people that don't like to listen and learn during a game and just want action, which isn't an insult at all bc I totally get their preferences. But this game requires serious patience and a willingness to observe inorder to get the overall plot, which does get good. It's a very artistic approach to story telling so if your more into story than action, I recommend the game 110%.
I'm having a blast. I held off playing this on purpose. I just can't seem to get into games that are still running at 30 fps. I swear, you have to play at a locked 60 for a couple of years to really feel how off putting going back to a locked or variable 30 is. The core loop in this game is so unique. On the plus side, I can't fly helicopters, stealth or competently shoot assault rifles, but I can hike. This is one of the first game I ever played where I feel like I'm bringing real-life expertise to the table. :D

Just finished the game on pc. I definitely understand people that loved the game and the people that hated the game lol.
Great review. I just recently started playing No Man’s Sky on PC since it’s been completely redone in regard to day one issues and find those exploration, somewhat low key type single player games tend to be my favorites. I might have to reconsider this game now especially being on PC. Thanks for your time!

I never cared for this game. And most reviews made it sound boring. But I bought it today for PC and I am really loving it
Still playing on ps4 till this day it is a masterpiece to me❤️
I might buy this again on PC for some 60 FPS goodness. I love it that much.
Looks really amazing in 4K on PC. The characters are also really well captured in the game. Cliff and Die-Hardman have the coolest story. There is one bit late game, where I forgot that this was a video game and not real acting I was seeing in front of me - really terrific. The gameplay is also super comfy in a way I cannot describe - also great music choices. I wish there was an iDroid like in MGS 4 where you can select and play the music you want from the games great soundtrack
Started playing on PS4, but finally got a PS5 and a 4KTV and it's just amazing. So happy I can continue the journey.
Played this on PS4. My emotions where all over the place when I finished. Insanely interesting and unique story that I very much liked. I never really liked the combat, so when you get the cuffs to better help you, it's super nice. I personally LOVED the gameplay. It was super methodical, and gentle, and relaxing and the community aspect made it oh so much better. I was there to help contribute to the highways. I built over 10 pieces of road myself and made a huge zipline across an entire mountain pass up to mountain knot city. The game overall for me was amazing and crazy and so deep and rich with story telling.

playing it with my brother I think we both agreed It one of the best parts that maybe not everyone would agree with but imo is the whole it throws you from walking sim to basicly a modern warfare type style for a bit then its a street fighter game .. it was all over the place and the fact that it tried to attempt it all and did them all well … they weren't fantastic segments but they were better then a lot of games these days and it was all packaged into one single game and I think that's where this game shined the most it didn't have to be amazing at everything it did have a great story but everything else was 7 or 8 outta 10 were as most games try to makes everything amazing and because they try so hard they push so much stuff into one thing and it falls short in other areas this was a great all around game
This game is mind blowing. I just trekked across a mountain range, up into the snowy peaks, to carefully come down on the other side and find civilisation in a green valley. This game takes the world itself and makes it the game. Every tool is useful, the traversal tools particularly - and because you can fabricate as many things as you like you really use stuff... no hoarding. This has redefined what a game is for me.
This turned out to run so well. My PC was high-end in 2016 and currently still has a 1070 on board. Im running this game maxed out with an Ultra-Wide monitor. The game has limited the width to 3440 x 1440 where mine can do 5120 x 1440, it trims the edges off to black and this is fine as this monitor was more a workflow replacement for two monitors, and that width would have been impractical, most games don't support it. It looks so crisp and clean, runs smooth as butter, I was shocked on the first look at the terrain. I am considering swapping to a controller, mouse and keyboard is perfectly fine but I am wondering if I am missing out on finesse of movement, such as using a stick to control walk speed, and the weight distribution controls; right now everything is very on-off, such as walk or run, left and right weight distribution as just mouse holding, rather than fine adjustments. But the controls are still intuitive, and that is good enough for me. Really enjoying the online elements, not something I expected at all.
If are at all curious, just buy it. It's hard to explain and make sound good, but it truly is incredible. My personal GOTY for 2019
It is one of my all time favorite games. Contributing to the community was my favorite past time in it
i really love this game, i still play it on and off
As someone who platinum the game i wouldn't recommend purchasing it for full price cause its very slow to start so if you're not a fan of slow game play, might wanna wait for the sales.

My Problem with the game were 2 things. 1.The world was actually too small for me. I imagined this huge, empty but beatiful landscapes were you have to walk those real life miles, but super relaxing, sprinkled with survival elements. I do not care if it would have been procedual, in fact i expected it 2. The deliveries, the very thing you're good for, have no real impact on the story. Its just an empty gameplay Feature. Theres no simulation behind it, no economy or something.

@@OnwardToMail ok thats a fair point. It was still a bit sad to see that the map was so relatively small tho
You know, I don’t doubt the therapeutic value of this game. Most people were extremely hyped for this game, blowing it out of proportion to what it actually was. The marketing was so incredibly vague and somewhat misleading that, when the game released, everyone was sort of disappointed in a way. I think the story sounds like it could be interesting but I’m not sure it’s worth the money. I’d wait for a sale at the very least. It just sounds like a game most people would play an hour or two and then never pick it up again.

Been playing this game for some time now and i have to say, it really looks gorgeous 🤩💯. I definitely recommend
The gameplay is simple, but still so strong and gets better the deeper you go, sometimes tedious but nice, but the story was next level, loved it
3:46 so essentially it's a Uber Eats devlivery man in 2020 simulation
Why get this for $60 when you can get the masterpiece known as Walking Simulator 2020 for free?

Covid delivery man simulator lol I did enjoy it when it came out on PS4 also I watch all jackssecptike videos of this game the story was twisting but really good.
You're the best, Jake. Always being informative and helpful. Stay safe and stay awesome.
I only played an hour of it. I've stayed clear of purchasing a ps4 to play it. And got to be honest. Love it. The beginning was amazing. Couldn't tell if it was actual photography or cgi. And then the game just joined in, wasn't or didn't seem to drop graphically. I'm running on a gtx 1660 super. And it's on all the highest spec. And running fine. I could probably drop it slightly for more FPS. But I'm more of a higher spec guy 😂

Can't help but notice that the KZread process didn't screw up this video at all. Usually vids look like blurry garbage compared to the actual gameplay on here
This game really resonated with me. I totally agree its not for everyone, but, I am so happy that I gave it a solid try. Loved the story and world lore. I will always remember finishing it just as covid hit the US and we all were forced to shelter in place. Considering some story elements in the game, it was just really ironic timing. Also, I was really sad when it was over. That feeling is a consistent reaction I get within the top/best games played in my life.
I'm not buying any games this summer, (except TLOU2, I had to buy it), and am working some summer jobs so that I can build a PC. About 2/3 of the way there

I finished the game in fact I platinum it. It's a solid game but not a masterpiece, the first one is better in my opinion because it kept me engaged and couldn't put it down till the end while the second one i couldn't care less about Abby and the pace of the game feels a bit off .
