What hurts me the most in this scene is Dumbledore "Please" to Severus, because it was not a request for compassion but to fulfill the promise they had agreed upon.

What hurts me the most is he didn’t die from the curse, he died from the fall. The curse only works if you mean it, snape didn’t mean it. Plus the spell he was using on Harry to keep him quiet and still didn’t break until albus fell, not when the spell hit

No one ever mentions the brilliancy of Snape as a potions master. He altered that potions book while a boy at school ..

Oh I remember when the book came out. I couldn't get my hands on it for some time and neither could my cousin. And then one day my cousin was just complaining to me how she was on this website which promised no spoilers but then she saw a fan-made drawing of Dumbledore's funeral which of course spoiled his death and I just stared at her like "Did you just spoil it for me too?!" I still get angry just thinking about it :D

For those who don't know/don't remember - in the book, Dumbledore stuns Harry so that he won't be caught/intervene, losing his one chance to defend himself against Draco before being disarmed.

We all in this scene hv no idea that "Severus please" is not a pleading for life.. but pleading for death. Ahhh Dumbledore manipulation... i always feel if Dumbledore told snape all those secrets prior. Many wizards who lost their lives including himself wouldve been alive. Arrggh Dumbledore 😤😤

Dumbledore was a dieing man anyway. The sickness was contained to his hand, but eventually it would spread. Better to get killed instantly by a friend than tortured to death by Voldie. You could argue that Snape&Dumbledore would've been strong enough to fight off Bellatrix, but Dumbledore would still be dieing and it would blow the cover of Snape.

Dumbledore couldve taken them all alone. Snape mightve been able to as well. Obviously both of them together would have no issues.

@@IcyDeath91 Dumbledore was weakened at this point, but yes they very likely could have fight them off. It would've blown Snape's cover only to save Dumbledore's life, who was a dying man.

I've never watched any Harry Potter film all the way through.

The fact that most book readers hate this scene Like how they hate the fact that the movies and that stupid old Gambon ( ohh I should not use such language ) But that Gambon out of his ignorance didn’t read the books when he was repeatedly told to do so. But he didn’t do saying he wanted to make the character of Dumbledore as he likes But in reality what does that Gambon made it look like is-: a funny, old mistake making, and a manipulator, who used and didn’t cared about others

It’s beyond worth it, sadly you lost this surprise. The books are far better and incredibly easy to read but the films are great. Only issue is they take most of Harry and Ron’s great moments to prop up Hermione and they water down Harry’s personality to nearly nothing

@@shadi6484 Dumbledore took precious seconds to immobilize Harry, so Malfoy was able to disarm Dumbledore. Harry was under the Invisibility Cloak and completely paralyzed throughout the entire scene. When Dumbledore died, the spell on Harry was lifted, so Harry knew that Dumbledore was definitely dead.

there was no way that you read this part in the book and dont cry for a day! it was dumbeldore man! the movies are aweful.. 😕

I’m sure all of this makes sense in the books, but in the movies it seems so unnecessary and convoluted. Meh.
