Death - Interview live @ Solidrock, Musiqueplus Montréal Qc 22/06/1995 **REMASTERED**
Музыка
I re-ripped the master VHS, removed some of the hiss in the audio and I replaced the audio in "The Philosopher" with the album version (since it's a mono recording). The slightly choppy framerate during the interview is from the original broadcast.

So much of Chuck's personality has rubbed off on me, he has patience and respect for anyone. Such a down to earth, humble, genuine human being. Just his KZread interview videos alone have influenced who I am as a person. I can only imagine what effect he had on the people who had the pleasure of meeting him. Him and Michael Jackson such peaceful souls \m/

I think he was breaking up Death around the time of Sound of Perseverance & Control Denied's first album. I haven't put much thought into what Chuck may have been doing these days. It's possible he would have taken a break from Death for a few album cycles with Control Denied, which he wasn't even doing vocals on, just guitar and give his voice a rest for a few years, then kick out another Death album around 2005 or so, with his voice in tip-top shape. It's obviously just all speculation, but that's my personal take on it. I just thought that up this very moment off the top of my head. As far as what he might be doing here in 2016, I have no clue. I mean from 1987 to 1995, his vocals took a really drastic and sudden change. Who knows if he'd be able to sing in the same way as Symbolic. I personally prefer his vocals on all the albums before Individual Thought Patterns, to be quite honest. I really dunno, though, because there are some extreme type metal bands who still play the same style as they did decades ago, with singers who still sound decent.

My guess is he probably would've continued with Control Denied or start a new project...however because of the way the music industry is now I think he may have eventually chose to tour with Death again since that band was his most successful. Not sure if he would still make Death albums though, but maybe just tour with that name and still work on other projects.

He got the answer of our existence. The meaning of life and death. His soul is with our creator.
It's sad that he was in one of the best bands named Death, but loved life. Chuck was a good man, and he brought a lot to the metal community, it's just sad to see what happened to him, and that he had career problems with being ripped off, but he did it for the love of the music.

What?
that shot at 7:11 was so precious, so sad and so heart-wrenching to see a young talented lad, in the prime of his life so full of life and energy, suddenly perished. I email him through his website in broken English and they were so nice and warm to me, I still get a lump in my throat when I see him on screen :(
In contrast to the brutality of his music Chuck is so mild mannered; And the interviewer is so hot

Chuck looks just like the guy of my dreams...What beautiful eyes and smile.I want to marry him :(
No one would of been a better ambassador of metal than this guy.......He is full of positivity low key humble guy that you would never ever had think he was the song writer for Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy.
Man chuck seemed like such a genuinely good dude. Would have loved to have met him if he was still around. RIP brother \m/
according to wiki, every motherfucker in the community started helping, even some really successful bands (red hot chilli peppers, kid rock, korn, trivum) tried helping but the costs could not be covered and the surgery was denied, which makes me think, where have we come in this world, where you can't spare a dollar for a brother to SAVE HIS LIFE. Actually, no matter who the fuck it is, why not help a brother out? And we give our money to entertainment purposes like kickstarters for games.

The man with the most beautiful mind, my number one influence and inspiration in life. Having perspective without prejudice
so sad people just dont get it,Mr.Man said it in so many words, its not about death and violence its about FEELING in ones self. We all miss your true vision, and sadly will never see it again.
i'm astonished by his loss, when i see him like in here: gentle, clever and polite, back in the day when music had hope
Miss you a lot, Chuck.
Chuck is jamming with Hendrix, Keith Moon and Cliff Burton right now, and recently, Dio and John Lord joined their band. Best all round super group line up right here!!

I was at the show the day that this interview took place! I still have the ticket stub for the concert (total cost $19.91!) One of the best shows I've ever seen. Chuck was an incredible musician and composer, a goddamn shame such a brilliant metal god's life was cut short. Chuck's music has influenced my life in ways that are beyond words!

Best audio/image version. Thank you very much!!
Chuck always shows how misunderstood we are as metalheads. People are so willing to accept hip hop and rap with all their explicit drug use , raping and killing but the minute they see someone that looks like a metalhead or hears them listening to the music they are scared and offended. I actually like it that way because it’s allowed me to see the true person they are. I can’t tell how many people have tried to get into my life after they’ve judged me wrong and actually find out I’m a nicer person than most of their friends or family and my favorite part is ignoring them. If your going to judge me by the music I listen to without any knowledge that music or the person I am, I have no room for you in my life

Without Chuck, we would not exist.

Symbolic has great memories for me. 1996 i think. smashed it for about 6 months. learnt the lyrics. Death was an important part of my life from 1989 till 1997. its like looking back on a past life now. I get quite pensive about it now.

Man i am baffled at what Chuck said cause we have in common favorite band King Diamond :). I Love him even more now. He was such a talent and hard worker driven by passion of music and innovation. He is truly my all time hero both musically, and as a human being to be looked upon. Forgot to mention Death is my favorite band as well :D.

nice interview, love the Symbolic album...!
This should be a music video for the philosopher, my favorite song by death other than crystal mountain, because both convey 2 huge issues in our current society, and these 2 songs have a special place in my heart.
@VictorHeavyMetal95 I'm still glad I even have that footage. I had literally came home from the Death show in Rimouski, i turn on the TV and she's like "after the break, Chuck from DEATH!". I never looked for a blank tape faster in my life.

definately. he was a great and serious guy with attitude.
you express exactly how i feel
If Kickstarter existed back then, Chuck would still be here. I’m surprised nobody did fundraisers for him.
Humilde e simpático demais.
Gene is seriously a drum machine, I mean not in a mechanical way but like advanced sci fi technology, so ahead of its time, its like hearing Rush, gotta love the classic prog influence. Stellar musicianship from everyone.🔥
I certainly don't mind how half of the interview is literally a music video.
At that time in Montreal Death was supported by Gorguts. That would definitely be a perfect destination for time travel!
I love you Chuck❤
Chuck was one of my idols ever since I bought their 1991 album HUMAN. I had all of their previous releases, and they were good, but ever since I bought HUMAN and all of their subsequent releases, I liked their music even more because they talked about shit that's actually still a serious problem in this world. Like Chuck, I really hate hypocrisy as well as betrayal.
"PLAYING FROM THE HEART & THE SOULS...WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT"...what a statement!!!...no fabricated formulas to sell records withouth spirit
7:55 hurts knowing that we can no longer see this man do his amazing music, i'm sure he had a lot of plans with control denied, death or even other projects that would become absolutely legendary.
