What i loved about chuck, was that he didn't try to claim or want to appear as some badass, evil son of a gun, that various people in metal genre try to be, like Euronymous, Glen Benton, or just about every other old school metal biker guy. He was a simple guy that loved animals, liked to cook, and hang out with his buddies, and still is held in higher recognition and proclaimed the father of death metal

Because today you have a whole fuckery of wannabes, Hip-Hop superstars, forming the shadows of what Hip-Hop really used to be in the early days and how good it was but ruin it with crap lyrics and shit music and beats and tones and whatever. Fuck me, they're ruining their own genre, yet still in the mainstream scene.

Yves Heinrich I totally agree, I love old hip hop and gangster rap. That shit had heart just like metal. The subjects may have been different, but both types of artists had the love for the music. Something that I feel is very rare in now days music.

Kaine O'Brien That's right! What's wrong with today is mainly the music industry and all the mainstream artists who only sell crap for money. I hardly can tell who's an actual artist and who's a businessman, if you know what I'm saying... which Metal bands even earn certificates these days but old bands whom just released new albums...

Yves Heinrich It's bullshit and insulting as a musician and as a person who just loves music. Music should be written for music, not so you can release shitty single after single to earn fame and live a lavish lifestyle

I couldn’t even imagine the careers and success all the metal bands that are playing nowadays would get if MTV still did this or cared. Instead, Metal bands tour and play and record relentlessly, in vans, in the middle of winter, for months on end. Then write and record everything, recording videos of playthroughs, all sorts of work that other musicians in other genres do not do at all. It’s maddening but hey, all for the music. Just sucks that they can’t make a living off of it anymore.

these were the days when CC had a "mastermind." Barnes was a mysterious diabolical figure who was integral to the bands aura. now they just have a dude with a big neck who plays video games and then shows up a reads a piece of paper written by the bassist or drummer. no aura anymore, just cookie-cutter or cookie-monster-cutter death metal.
