For the guitar player who played badly and got hit in the face by his band members, he did that classic “ look at the other band members faces to see if they’re mad at me” . They were

i was in a band back in high school and we werent terrible. just your regular mid ass cover band. i played lead guitar. we practiced twice a week all for this "battle of the bands" sort of thing at our local corn maze that was held every year. every band had two songs to play. one song i had my acoustic, the other my electric. i cant even remember what song i needed my acoustic for, but when it came time for me to play my electric i had no time to prepare or anyhting. we were playing "little talks" by of mice and men . idk if it was the louisiana heat or what, but my guitar was flatter than shit. i guess it was my fault for not making sure i tuned it immediately before the song. i mean like it sounded like my strings got microwaved before hand. and ive been in band throughout school, and ik how to adjust, but this just wasnt adjustable. so i went with it played the whole song flat af and hoped nobody noticed. then i came to school the next day and my teacher who i guess is tone deaf played the show for the whole class. i begged and pleaded for her not to. man that was a traumatizing moment for me. ngl

I've been playing guitar for 40 years and I hope I get as good as all these guys one day.

Every 6 months or so, I have to watch this SCOM cover. It messes with my head how they can each so attentatively play their 'parts' while not being distracted by the inconvenience of trying to play together as a band. Their ability to stick to their guns and see their cover through to the end despite the total cacaphony they're making is impressive.

That's the craziest part man. Me on guitar, obviously I listen to the drums as my tempo, but sometimes doing covers, I listen to the vocalist as to when to play what. Regardless, as off tempo as I've practiced with bands, we always synchronized within like 1 beat. I've played rhythm guitar to a lead guitarist that could stay on beat if his life depended on it unless he had a metronome, like drums. 🤣

I used to run a rehearsal studio with 4 rooms that bands could rent out for rehearsals. I’ve seen (and been forced to listen to) some pretty crappy bands.

Ok, so the second band vaguely managed to remember the tabs for Sweet Child, but they completely forgot everything about the fact that what separates a song from just random suicide-provoking noise pollution is tone, speed, and rhythm. After exposing my brain for this video, The Shaggs are going to sound like Dream Theatre to me.

me and some friends once decided to learn back in black in less than 10 minutes in the schools music room, and made a concert out of it. it was very shitty, but i feel a little bit better after seeing this.
