If Tabby destroys the piano before 2:20, Melody will instead sit and cry in front of the piano for a short time, before getting up and heading to the bathroom. If the toilet has not been destroyed, she will sit on top of it, and the Akaname will kill her. If Tabby destroys the toilet with the axe before Melody can sit on it, she will instead head back to her bedroom and hang herself. To be fair, this doesn't seem like a very homely house.

This child has absolutely no reaction to her family being brutally slaughtered and unknown entities chasing her through the house, and that’s funny to me for some reason.

In the grand scheme of the story, the kid's been reliving all the deaths over and over again even before we start the game. When we start the game she just so happens to start writing about her loops in her diary for the sake of narrating to us, the audience. So lore-wise the child has grown numb to the horrors and is just trying to figure out how to stop them.

That might be because she lived through this exact day hundreds of times already by the time the game starts, so she's become completely numb to everything. It's a nice touch.
