another key factor to consider is the placement of their 4 arms, Goro's extra arms are under his usual ones their reach is limited and usage for grab techniques is far from viable in comparison to Machamp's who's arms are near behind his shoulderblades so he has more options in a fight.

i love it when the characters in the battle are so tonally different like this. like kirby vs buu and johnny cage vs captain falcon are completely stupid but brilliant

They also SEVERELY understated Machamp's power here. A Coperajah with the ability Heavy Metal, which doubles its weight, weighs 1330.0kg, and factoring in Mach 6,888.62 for its Seismic Toss feat, that comes out to 3.648 PETAJOULES of force, or 871 kilotons of TNT, and that's BEFORE you effectively double Machamp's raw strength when suffering from an ailment with its Guts ability. This was as big a blowout as Goku vs Superman.

Lore accurate Pokemon are terrifying, so I wasn't surprised with the results. Goro is pretty powerful himself, but he's nowhere near the top of the pecking order in Mortal Kombat

I really loved how this fight was animated too. They really made use of all the extra limbs involved.

It shouldn’t be used as part of the bet (for reasons made obvious in the video), but would love to see your reaction to SpongeBob vs Aquaman

They didn't show an anime example of it, but when using Seismic Toss, Machamp grabs his opponent and jumps into orbit, and *tosses* the opponent before they both collide with the ground. This is what Machamp does to Goro.

This is, funny enough, one of my favorite fights in the series. It's so ridiculous but they fit together so well, and they did an amazing rendition of Mortal Kombat and Pokemon themes together. Also, I'm a big fan of Machamp. Guts Machamp are scary, since it multiplies Machamp's attack by 50% when inflicted with a negative status.

So glad you guys finally checked this episode out, sorry Goro couldn’t pull a win (we know who you BOTH were rooting for). Despite being a lifelong Pokémon fan it really wasn’t until this episode came out I really came to appreciate Machamp. Superpower Pokémon for Smash!

This episode, everyone agrees, had absolutely no right to be as good as it was. It was a left-field matchup with some mediocre connections, but neither fighter really had anyone better, and the entire episode was just fun the whole way round! Also, unimportant tidbit, but technically Machamp has one other slight advantage over Goro, being arm flexibility. Goro's second pair looks mire like it's just sticking out of his sides, whereas Machamp's are on his shoulders and actually have shoulder joints of their own.

I miss match-ups like this. Two reasonably well matched fighters putting their skills to the test. Not two OP dudes who can just casually break reality, rendering any form of reasonable analysis completely pointless.

This was a good reaction and do a reaction to either Shadow vs Mewtwo or Lucario vs Renamon next.

I was in team Pokémon for that fight. And I was very happy with the result. Although I’m sure the research done here was probably iffy, considering a lot of assumptions were made for both sides.

I think that the seismic toss animation shouldn't be counted and actually launching Pokémon into orbit as that's just a call back to the show when charizard would use it and they would put the earth in the center of the circle it was flying. Machamp was still a better fighter so he probably still would've won but the seismic toss animation being included throws this one out for me

Honestly I feel Goro should have won this by a landslide. Pokemon is just way too inconsistent. At times Pokemon are able to lift and throw huge boulders or tank hits that send them flying through solid walls and other times those same Pokemon are KO'd by simple smacks to the face while Goro is able to demolish demon's and superhumans

Goddamn nobody ever brings up any other manga and that's incredibly frustrating. Also have you SEEN what the game and anime have in them? Because they have everything you just listed (heck, the anime has MORE main character death. Ash has died like five times now. No other main character even in Pokespe has ever died. Being turned to stone or sealed away aren't dying).

I guess the four arms joke with his ex-wife supposed to be dirty.. imagine what he can do with four arms.. Pah. Lame. You need four heads. And also four tongues to be good. 😏

@@krewl1252 Well, the both are the literal champions of their worlds, have been beaten by embarrassing opponents or weaknesses, are part of a noble race, and, yes, they both have four arms.

I'd ignore all MK scaling by Death Battle, even though some of us told them about how the scaling should be they downplayed it, even though MK11 and MK1 show that elder gods (Who Johnny Cage and Raiden can fight) can destroy planets, and Liu Kang can create black holes.

Pokemon vs Mortal Kombat. Not exactly the best mashup but I didn't mind this one. Goro is much stronger than Machamp though

The best actual showcase we seen of Goro is him ripping people apart who have human level durability. We have seen Mchamp's pull off better feats of strength then that. I don't do scaling as it's silly a lot of the time. If I was in a tank & fought a elephant & won,scaling would say I myself is as strong as that elephant.

Goro's limited abilities and reliance on only strength and skill means he doesn't have many options. Plus this was a WILD Machamp. Wild Pokémon are less powerful than those with trainers.
