I was at my local dealer for an oil change in my GM plastic car, and there was this beautiful blue Colorado in the showroom. I walked over, and it had everything I would have wanted at a reasonable MSRP. Then I heard my wife in my head say, "Oh no you're not". Dang it, I really liked that truck. LOL

The guy with the bike reminds me of a story from many years ago. Long before the days where identity theft was common. A man walks into a GM dealership in Chicago and leases two vehicles. Unfortunately the person was not who he said he was but managed to drive away with two new vehicles. The vehicles were recovered and little over a year later when they were abandoned. Obviously the license plates could not be renewed. Both vehicles had significant damage. Nowadays that is probably a more common occurrence.

That biker guy could’ve been possibly scoping out the place to see if it’s easy to steal those vehicles after hours. If I were the manager, if your dealership can place extra security. I say do it. Hope everyone is safe there.

I have the Colorado's grandparent, a 2002 Chevy S10 long bed in red with the 4.3 V6 . First new vehicle I ever bought. Has been good to me.

I've been a 6 time repeat customer of about 20 yrs I think to my local Chevrolet dealership. My long time sales guy just contacted me recently for the 2025 Equinox. I currently have the 22 Equinox RS and I like the full inside and out re-fresh look of the 2025 Equinox. So going in later this week to talk numbers and such. My longest with one vehicle was 5 yrs with a 2018 Equinox.

Love the new Colorado!! I am looking at those along with the new Ranger.

I had to pay for my last car with a personal check. The dealership didn’t want a bank check.

At the GM dealership where I'm back at work, (part time. I retired for a year, then got bored, and missed the lot life), we almost never saw Canyon/Colorados. Everyone wanted the big trucks. Now the Silverados/Sierras are piling up at our off-site lot, and we're getting more and more of the smaller trucks.

I am thinking the full size trucks got so pricey people are moving down. Even if you have a smaller trailer the Colorado can tow it.

I guess some dealers out here in Oklahoma are a bit more casual. They accepted my personal check when I purchased a new vehicle.

I recently wrote a $52k on my wife’s new car. The Lexus dealer had no issue at all. This is in S. Cal.

I rented a new 2024 Traverse LT a couple of weeks back while on vacation, I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was. Never owned a Chevy before but would certainly consider one.

Please do a test drive of the Chevy traverse with super cruise at night and in the rain and also in the fog as well to test the system at its limits and review the headlights as well

It was a scam and I’m glad you didn’t get caught up in it. Dealerships have been scamming “ customers “ for years, and I think the folks are getting tried of it.

That's a nice looking Colorado! I wonder why Chevy doesn't make a body on frame SUV version of it to complete with the Bronco, 4Runner, new Land Cruiser, and Jeep. Maybe call it the Montana or Boulder ( or bring back the Blazer name and rename the current blazer crossover). *Ford should also be selling an SUV version of the Maverick and Ranger

The Montana name is already being used by Chevrolet on their smaller pickup. It is not available in the US yet.

I just checked out the Montana pickup, it would definitely sell in the US & Canada if it was priced competitively with the maverick. Ford should bring the Everest here too, even if it sold at a premium to the explorer I think there is room for it. I had one as a rental last summer, really nice ride and looked so much better then the current explorer.

Traded my 23 Colorado ZR2 for a 24 Silverado ZR2 with the Duramax. Love everything about the Colorado stance, power, tech, etc. Fuel mileage was the downside. With a roof top tent I was seeing 12-13 mpg. With the Silverado I average 21-22. And the extra room is very welcomed. GM is building some great vehicles.

Amazes me how often people trade cars. I never trade a car. I always maintain them and give them to a granddaughter (I have 5). The last one the oldest one got was an '07 Accord with 170,000 ,miles that ran as if it had mile 1. My truck bought new is an '05 Titan and runs and looks like new. My wife's car is a RAV4 XLE hybrid and BEST car ever made. Perfect. I guess I would not be good business for your dealership but loved the video. I think the new Toyota trucks have gotten so expensive people will switch to the Chevy. I would.

Just traded my 2023 Colorado for a 2024 LT TrailBoss and I couldn’t be happier. Loved the Colorado, great little peppy truck. I’m a pretty tall guy and it just didn’t accommodate me well.

Could be he cloned the key fob to return after hours for a great deal.

GM did a great job with the new Colorado and Canyon. I think they will sell every single one that they can build and then some.

The Colorado is great..but Chevy/GM does not stand behind the product...my '23 Z 71 driver side leather seat has started cracking...only 12k on it and my dealership will not cover it..twisted their arm to send it in to GM for a review,,,2 weeks,,,have heard nothing so far.....I am in NJ...maybe should have purchased from Dave...

I live in Traverse City! And actually met Dave B when I was in NYC and decided to pay a visit (I'm actually in one of his videos). GM did film a commercial with the Traverse here in Traverse City (and just did one for the Corvette last month here).

I cannot get used to you cannot pump gas in NJ.

I swear sometimes that front end of the Colorado looks like a tacoma i almost always make the mistakes.

I am surprised you put regular gas in it. Almost all turbo engines recommend premium for full performance.

Check the specs of the 2.7L turbo 4. 87 octane is acceptable.

I don't know, from the sounds of it that dude on the bike is setting something up. I don't usually like to be suspicious about people but my gut is telling me he's pretending to be a customer and that info he gave you isn't his. I'm not saying that you should do anything official but if anyone at your dealership or the other one he was at knows an detective then I'd casually ask their opinion. The man could be harmless and just an odd duck but be careful just in case.

It sounds like the guy that ghosted you was potentially using someone else's identity and was likely fraud.

When I bought my '24 Z71 Colorado, I was planning on paying cash. Dealer said that if I financed it with GM Financial they would give me a $1000 discount, and that I could pay it off whenever I wanted. OK by me, and I paid it off as soon as GM Financial contacted me. 💁‍♂

Dealers get a commission from the bank for the loan. The dealer get’s it’s money either way. But if it’s financed, the bank adds a little extra.

What you have is a run away scammer
