Thank you for doing the video. We share many viewpoints regarding this topic. I also feel as an hoh person that maybe a bit more representation in the deaf comunity was needed. Thank you😊👍

I didn't really put a conclusion in the video (which I probably should have done), but here is kind of my final view. I think it would have been really good if he had an actual audiologist speak about hearing loss and give more specific information and maybe ask the people in the video why they are choosing to get hearing aids and show their answers. Obviously the people's reactions were cherry picked for the ones most interesting to look at rather than being representative of the average (but that's why he has 164,000,000 subscribers and I have 700). I think he kind of overemphasised how much hearing aids can actually do, but he's not deaf or an audiologist so I think it's a bit unfair to expect him to be completely knowledgeable about the subject. I don't think he has done anything wrong, but I really hope that people aren't taking this video as their only source of education about hearing loss, but unless said person is a literal child, they should probably know better than to use a video with people green screened onto a jet ski as a source of reliable medical information.

Hi Nelle, thank you for making this reaction video. I saw Mr. Beasts video, and watching your reaction to it was a great way to complete the conversation that was going on in my head.

Hi nelle,i have never heard of this mr beast or his reasons for giving away free hearing aids,as you rightly point out we get ours for free in the UK but as we have seen with you trying to get a 2nd cochlear implant for free was imposible! It did look like each of the those people got different hearing aids,i dont know if each person got two hearing aids! There are millions of people out there of all ages that would benefit from hearing aids! Unlike glasses which most people can afford, hearing aids are out of most peoples price range, you can get cheap amplifiers from places like amazon! But can you imagine nelle when you lost your hearing if there were no NHS hearing aids & you could not afford private ones! You know what its like when your implant comes out & your hearing aid, virtually total silence, that would have been your life & by now your speech would be all over the place! But you still had to go private for hearing aids, and only got one ear implanted when you need both! Hence the go fund me, What happens when you get new hearing aids, what happens to the old ones? Are they sent to places where people cannot afford hearing aids? Perhaps as you say mr beast should come to the UK & fund your 2nd implant! And that of others! It should not be up to rich people to provide hearing aids! The look on those kids faces was priceless! Nobody thats contributed to your go fund me page is rich,we are just ordinary people that give what we can spare as one day it could be us launching a go fund me page! I believe in paying it forward! Being profoundly deaf myself i saw what you are going through! And i have seen from your videos how much a cochlear implant has helped you & given you confidence to go to UNI,maybe there should be more mr beasts in this world,i vowed if i won big on the lottery i would pay for people like yourself to have a 2nd implant! I still think its wrong that if you were under 18 you would have had both ears implanted, but over 18 one ear implanted! Surely it should go on whether the first one was a success then get the 2nd done! You have proved nelle that you have made the most of your implant & it would not be a waste of money implanting the other ear! I get angry that there are other nelle's out there that have missed out on a chance to hear better with a 2nd implant because they are over 18 & dont have the money to get the other ear implanted! Surely one of the big cochlear implant makers could set aside money to help people get a 2nd implant! It would be good publicity & may even be able to claim tax relief! Hearing aids/CI's are a lifeline, suddenly losing your hearing does affect a persons mental health! Hearing aids are not a cure but they can make a big difference to a persons life! 💗💗💗
