It is part of why he is crazy and part of why he doesn't remember horrible things, while his healing factor is pretty good and does repair some of his neural connections, it is far from perfect. Like his ability to walk and talk after head trauma is simply him learning all over again and rebuilding those connections at super speed.

The second time he survived because he was touched by the feather of an angel (by deadpool who just… found one?) that would spare him from death once, so it saved him from the penance stare. My take on it is that since we know Wade's memories are corrupted over time by the battle that is constantly raging between the cancerous cells in his body and his overamped healing factor, the spirit of Vengeance has to hit him with this every once in a while to make sure he still remembers to suffer.

Oh boy, I haven't watched yet but I wonder how they've been inconsistent about the Penance Stare now. Placing bets that DP isn't effected because he had chimichangas for breakfast or something stupid like that. Will edit shortly. Edit: I don't see why he transformed back into Johnny, but it's nice to see the Stare work for once. Good on them for both honoring the power of the PS and giving respect to Deadpool as someone capable of being more than a hyuck factory.

Sounds like a similar result to when he did it to Thanos. The pennant stare just made Thanos cry a bit because he always knew it was wrong but he was a necessary evil to save the universe. So in his own mind he knew he was commiting atrocities but forced himself to never justify them

  • @Wbfuhn

Deadpool being written as immortal of all fatal injuries that even a piece of himself remaining will still regenerate and he'll come back. His soul is cursed to return to any part of his body that's still not destroyed. Ghost Rider using his Penance Stare will kill anyone guilty of wickedness on others. It's mainly an ability to inflict suffering on those who caused the suffering of their victims. They are forced to live through every victims suffering before finally dying. They die in suffering. Deadpool is an exception because while he has endured suffering of his own he doesn't feel the emotional suffering of those who suffered by his actions. (I'm assuming).

Since O.P. is an idiot that does not explain what happens when Wade receives the penance stare, I will tell you what happened. Instead of seeing his victims and the evil he had done, he saw his life as a teen in the war, his visits to the hospital, learning he had crazy amounts of Cancer, and then being admitted to the Weapon X Program. It's unfortunate that content creators beat around the bush when it comes to youtube shorts. Everyone deserves to know...
