10:11 is a fun reference. In 2004 there was a Deadpool comic and in one of the panels Deadpool says that he looks like "Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Shar Pei". That same year Ryan was in a Blade movie and everyone said that his character in that movie was Deadpool-esque. Fascinated by the volume of people who felt this way, Ryan picked up a bunch of Deadpool comics, and the first one he read was the one where Wade says he looks like him. Ryan Reynolds has been in love ever since. The way things played out kinda feels like the universe wanted this.

Think of all the animated movies with Hollywood stars doing the voices that are instantly recognized ie: Woody & Buz from Toy Story, three words out of their mouths and all I could see was their real faces. The voice (modulation of intonation or pitch), basically the comedic way Ryan talks will always be instantly recognizable 🤌✌

To think we only got this movie because Ryan Reynolds leaked the concept/test tape on KZread back in 2014, and apparently less than 24 hours later he got a call it was greenlit and a budget. Then it went on to become the highest grossing rated R movie of all time at the time, beating Passion of the Christ. The Deadpool song was a famous fan made song on KZread for the Deadpool video game, the studio contacted the guys and had them do a movie specific version. The final fight takes place on a SHIELD helicarrier and Bob, Wade's best friend, is Bob from Hydra in the comics. They couldn't afford a massive shootout so they had Deadpool forget all the guns in Dopinders car. Deadpool in the comics was somewhat modelled after Ryan, and even mentioned him by name a few times a decade or so before this movie or X-Men Origins. Unbeknownst to esteemed foot artist and Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, Ryan was already a Deadpool fan and wanted to play him in a movie. Deadpool himself, Wade Wilson, was created because Rob loved DC character Deathstroke, Slade Wilson, a classic Teen Titans villain and infrequent Batman villain. He even took Deathstroke's moniker "The Merc with the Mouth" and used it for Deadpool (they spoof it here with "wade the wisecracker"). Deadpool is one of Thanos' biggest enemies, as Death herself, who Thanos tries to kill everyone to win the affections of, actually fell in love with Deadpool instead of him. So Thanos cursed Deadpool to be unable to die even if every cell of his body was destroyed throughout the universe so he could never truly be with Death. Deadpool is technically not a true mutant in the comics, his healing factor comes from Wolverine's but is actually slightly faster despite having to battle his cancer constantly.

15:02 I guess it's good to point out that Deadpool is actually a latent mutant, whose X-gene was artificially activated. in the comics Deadpool was originally a mutate, basically anyone who gains abilities from an external source like Spider-Man or Hulk for example. Wade was a normal human who agreed to be an experimental test subject for the Weapon X Program gaining the healing factor of Wolverine but the process basically turned him insane. But I'm pretty sure they retconned him to be a latent mutant in the comics as well, not 100% positive on that. Funny enough the X-Men Origins take on Deadpool's origin is actually closer to the comics minus how Deadpool was depicted. Francis along with his Workshop that experimented on Mutants was the film trying to capture the whole Weapon X program that Wade signed up for when he got cancer in the comics. So Wade being involved with Weapon X in the original timeline is closer to the comics, one could argue that maybe this Wade still worked as a member of Team X alongside characters like Wolverine but this new timeline is still unclear on certain events.

The studio gave every difficulty to this movie -- * had made test footage but wasn't going to do anything until Ryan leaked it online for fan reaction, * they slashed the budget partway through filming (the reason why the duffel bag of guns gets taken, is the crew had to cut things for budget/time while shooting), * Set it to release in *February* (notoriously bad period for theatrical releases that aren't romances) And yet the movie prevailed on the enthusiasm of fans and made 13x of its budget

Simply taking him out of the fight when he immediately killed the others. And also that Bob is based on a Deadpool comic side character called "Bob, Agent of Hydra" who reappears frequently.

Wade does in fact feel pain lmao. In the comics, he’s usually able to ignore and power through it 1) because he’s so used to it and 2) his mental state is so ridiculously scattered. His psycho nature is a bit toned down in the movie, but he feels EVERYTHING. Francis (Ajax) does NOT feel pain since he had his nerves scorched - but he doesn’t have much of a healing factor so all that damage is decently permanent. Wade and Ajax are two sides of the same coin with their powers.

So yeah Deadpool and Wolverine both feel all the damage and pain being done to them, they kinda just get used to it cause of how much it happens like how every time Wolverine takes his claws out he is cutting himself. And here I believe the reason he gets disfigured is because his healing factor (which is actually better than wolverine’s usually) turned the cancer up to 11 having tumors spread all over his body

But Francis even with a gun to his head "What's my name?". Absolutely loving it.

Wade's skin is so messed up because you're seeing his cancer pushed out of his body up to the surface as a result of his healing factor, and it's horrifically painful. He also feels pain from getting shot or cut or crushed, but it's so small compared to the cancer (and the fact the torture completely reset his pain threshold) that he just doesn't react to it.

The interesting thing about the Ferris Bueller end credit reference is that in that movie, Ferris breaks the 4th wall right from the beginning of the movie until the end... just like Ryan does. Even though this movie ended on a happy note for Wade, I think it's not honest, and it quickly glazes over any realistic issues that Vanessa would have with just instantly being okay with what he looked like. It seems that so many were ready to vilify her if she didn't immediately accept his mangled up looking face and body. But let's keep it 100%, how many men would stay if it were reverse? I haven't heard one yet that said they'd take their fiance back if she came back looking in the same condition. But that's the beauty of fictional movies. There are many people out in the real world who fall in love with others that have physical differences but it just seems so far and few in between. Unfortunately, we now live in a very narcissistic society, what with the social media, internet and technology(brush up filters and now AI). I'm glad for Wade, but still feel like she shouldn't be judged too harshly if it was too much shock for her to just look past it instantly, and that she needed a little more time to adjust. Once Ryan got the greenlight ( no pun intended) to make this movie, he went all out HAM with it. Lol As many times as I've seen this movie and edits from reactors, I never noticed the Green Lantern pic in the opening credits, so great catch, Jax.👍🏾👏🏾 I like this movie, but I think I like the second one even more. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I really loved the Wade Wilson he played in the Wolverine Origins movie. I loved the display of his powers with the swords deflecting all those bullet shots, and then splitting the last one to hit two guys...It looked awesome, imo. I wish he kept that same skill for this version of Deadpool. After Stan passed away, Ryan posted a picture of the two of them posing for a picture together. Getting that cameo in the movie must have been such a special moment. Getting that stamp of approval and validation that Stan believed in Ryan to do the character justice. ❤👌🏾 Great reaction. It looks like both you and Lambie had a great time watching it. Lol

This is established, 100 percent indisputable fact. Side note: Bob is based on a comics character called 'Hydra Bob' that keeps popping up in the Deadpool comics as some organization or villain's henchman. Bob is a decent guy just paying the bills. His skill set just makes him perfect for henchman style jobs.

Fun fact: They actually had a whole gratuitous battle scene planned for that duffel bag where every single gun they showed would be used at least once for the big climactic confrontation with Francis. Then after filming the prep scene where they took every gun in the house to put into the bag, they realized they didn't have the budget for any of it. So Ryan just turned it into a running gag that Deadpool keeps forgetting his extra ammo and guns. 🤣
