Deadly poisons and how they kill

in this video we go over four deadly poisons to reveal the cellular mechanisms of how they kill, their medicinal or molecular biology uses, and list the animals that are somehow immune.

Colchicine was in a Quincy M.E. episode. That's how I learned about it.

4 litres of water won't kill the average person... I have drunk more than this on some days with positive results, let alone death.

I also drink lots of water! But here I am referring to drinking 4 L of water in one sitting (ie short time frame) considering my body weight would be deadly

Time frame matters, and also whether or not anything else is consumed. If you take some salt tablets with it you could be okay. If it was distilled water you'd be in for a world of hurt. Excess water consumption will wreak havoc on the concentration of important substances in your body such as potassium and sodium due to osmotic pressure.

agreed! the point here was to illustrate 2 things: 1. that anything can be toxic in large enough doses, even common foods and 2. to show relative amounts, ie tiny drop of tetanospasmin is deadly whereas it would take lots of water to be deadly. The actual numbers of how much water will be deadly will vary between people but the point is that compared to the other compounds discussed in the video it takes a lot more water
