I subbed to your channel because you were watching this show. I was in college when this show aired and it's awesome to see someone diving into it again. Doomsday Preppers and this show are some of the best older shows you can watch just for laughs. That video you did about the bush people hunting cryptids was really good too, that show has to be real.

The reason that the Zande expert pointed out that his weapons are made to kill. Is because in this context his opponent notably has a lot a weaponry that is made to capture. It's actually a simple but great point to make. As the Aztecs would prioritize capturing first and killing second. So they could meet their quota of sacrifice.

It’s one of the reasons they lost at the Battle of Otumba. The Aztecs were so confident of their victory they didn’t think to actually try to kill the Spaniards and their native allies until it was too late.

Plus wouldn't that also be in the Aztec's favor? Capturing prisoners alive when your weapons are super sharp volcanic glass-serrated clubs must have been really hard. @@3starperfectdeer233 I heard that they could penetrate plate armor of the time, if they were using lead shot. The problem was that it took a lot longer to train a soldier up to that level than it did for an archer. Then, when muskets came around, early muskets were inferior to bows and arrows, but they were easier to train people with, so they became the new best thing. The new weapons tend to start off worse than what they were intended to replace, but be faster to train more people with, making it more effective with larger numbers. A slinger vs an archer, 1v1, at their max level, a slinger might take the win. But in large scale conflict, you might have 2 archers for every 1 slinger, and a single slinger is gonna have a harder time beating 2 archers. Or something like that.
Like you said in a previous episode, I always love the nonsense back and forth. "I pulled his heart out" - "Ahhhh but you didn't consider that I could move my internal organs into different positions" - "And you think we wouldn't expect something like that, this weapon is designed to splinter on impact and shred *every* organ in your body"

The problem with a lot of the matchups, especially the weapons, is that they are being tested as 1v1. This episode is full of ranged weapons like slings, bows and atlatls which when used in formation are devastating; one rock getting thrown at you will probably miss, a hundred will probably kill you. So many of the warriors would have fought in a big group of warriors instead of just by themselves. Also please keep doing these, they're great.
@rileyrose5166

Agreed! It's one of the main things I think season 3 improved upon (though I think it's worse than season 2), it actually had squads of fighters so the ranged weapons don't just fly off and do nothing.

Yo Chris you REALLY need to try and get in touch with like Max or Geoff and ask them about their experience on this show. I’ve never seen either of them do an interview or comment on the show and stuff like that, plus I feel like they’d definitely be down to talk to you about some of the stuff. I mean, they’re not huge celebrities so I feel like it would be entirely within the realm of possibility of contacting them and trying to set up a Zoom call or something. It’d make you the Deadliest KZreadr BY FAR if you pulled that shit off. I would LOVE to hear what Max has to say about his time on the show and all that, so hopefully you could make that happen!

Max actually did an interview with a smaller channel with guys who have reviewed all the episodes of DW. I'm sure its out there somewhere
That knife marine guy has genuinely lived rent free in the back of my head since I was a kid. Anytime Deadliest warrior was brought up, it always goes back to that guy. First guy uses a knife reasonably, then the marine goes berserk. Love it 🤣

Actually as far as I could tell, the weapons tested on the show weren't museum pieces, but actually made in-house for the series. In season 3 they would sometimes do a segment in the weapons shop where historic weapon smith David Baker (one of the judges from Forged in Fire) would briefly show how he made the swords and weapons in the episode

The pilot episode of Apache vs Gladiator was amazing. The Gladiator "experts" use Chuck Liddell to demonstrate feats.
I'm telling you, man, you could do every single episode and we'd love every video. You ain't missed yet
Personally, for your next Final Deadliest Warrior video, I would strongly recommend the Green Beret vs the Spetsnaz. It is my all time favorite Modern matchup purely due to the experts bickering being so polarizing. The Green Berets boast C O N S T A N T L Y while the Russ- Spetsnaz are genuinely terrifying. If Navy Seal was scary for his rage, the Spetsnaz come across as villians in an action movie.

Spike TV sounds like a fever dream, like I'm half convinced it isn't real
You haven't been popping up in my recommended lately, good to see you're still making content
Glad you reviewed DW again. Keep up the great work.
I have no idea how or why the algorithm served up this video in my feed, but I am here for it. I watched Deadliest Warrior every day after class in college. So bad, but so good.

Very entertaining show.
I'm here for all and any episodes you choose to do. I love that you make a Playlist.
I loved every episode of this series. It was unique and relied on data not sentiments to decide who was deadliest per episode.
That was kickass ! , I'd like to see more of these .
Lmaooo the voice over for the add was hilarious
Your Hello-Fresh Sponsor moment was actually pretty funny/I liked that you didn't just talk about it. Subscribed keep up this amazing content that I somehow have been missing out on!
Nah man this show is awesome, you unlocked core memories of me and friends as kids watching this and we would make bets for who would win, and then we would go outside and do our own simulation lol. If anything you just made me want to revisit the show, so thanks!
Yeah, I agree with a lot of comments Chris just do the whole series! I love ALL your content but I get particularly excited seeing Deadliest Warrior on your thumbnails! Don't ever change Chris!👍
