If you watched the show you would understand his personality and understand how great this guy is. And i dont know the half of it. I only know him from the show and some videos on youtube i just watched.

I am in Germany and watch this every day. I don't miss a show if I can help it. I don't know how far along you guys are but here we just watched Phil die. It broke my heart and I cried as if he was my family.

I am Convinced Matt Lauer has never seen this show.

I named my son after Captain Sig Hansen. My wife and I love the Northwestern and her crew. I also want to show respect for the Cornelia Maree Captain Phil Harris Rest in Peace you are a model father and Captain. Your fans miss you.

I comment on Sig's book "North by Northwestern" Sig writes about the historical influence of Norwegians in regards to exploration, The Bering sea, crab fishing. Sig also talks a bit about The Northwest Passage but forgets to mention the greatest Norwegian explorer and one of mankind's greatest explorers, Roald Amundsen. Amundsen was the first person to successfully navigate a Northwest passage. Roald Amundsen (1872-1928) of Norway was the first person to successfully navigate the fabled Northwest Passage. His journey took three years to complete - he and his crew had to wait while the frozen sea around them thawed enough to allow for navigation. Since Amundsen was also a Norwegian why no mention by Sig? Still a book I enjoyed, much better than Jake's "Relapse"
