That’s direct lighting you’re seeing there where shadows are cast on the entrance, while in the original there’s less lighting like that where everything is more soft, don’t see that as a bad thing.

Lacking TJ hurts me bad because he truly made Frank who he was back then however I’ll just have to see how this gentleman handles it I’m very intrigued as Dead Rising is genuinely my favorite video game of all time. What made me feel like I wasn’t playing as Frank in DR4 was not only the horrible writing but the lack of TJ as well. It’d be awesome if there is an RE2 style option for classic voice cast like how that game has classic music. I know the studio is dead but this not being made by Vancouver is great to me because while many love DR2, I love OTR, and liked 3, I feel they changed too much from the first game making it easier, losing severity, tone, and identity very quickly. This being made in house back at Capcom is where it belongs. Let’s see what happens and if this version of Frank can cover wars with us once again.

That’s definitely PC version, It didn’t look that crisp on console. It wouldn’t say it was one of the best looking 360/PS3 titles but it was decent for 2008.

@@jgooner894 I _would_ say it is one of the better looking and running (given the number of character models on screen) X360 games. And it worked in true 720p, IIRC. Dead Rising 2, for example, looked and ran way worse.

I love how crowbcat mindfucked an entire generation into saying every remaster is souless, what's really funny is that the whole concept of calling something souless is a completely empty evaluation of a product. I said It looks soulless because instead of it's unique colors, they decided to use generic color palette all the other games use which makes it look like any other zombie game. I'm not watching that crow bat guy at all. If you remake the game and change the theme of the game as well then It would've been okay, but it's not a remake. This approach doesn't suit original dead rising imo. Note: I didn't even play dead rising in my childhood, I don't have any nostalgia about this game.

the first frank west model kinda looks like the model they used for dead rising CGI promos back then. i hope that's the model that's going to be used more in the game instead of the second model we see in the trailer

interesting to see they added and replaced some things in town around the 2:00 mark. Also like a thousand more trees in the mall parking lot. More mall roof detail at 3:45 is nice too

Think is the PC version shown here so if you played on console, the way better resolution and visual options they may have on does some really good things for those gen of games.

The cutscene definitely the same with the OG thus it became a remastered. In capcom's mind, a remake must be new game with lots of new things than just a visual upgrade and some quality of life update.

They’re going above just a simple remaster. This is like a remake with them remaking the models an environments. It’s likely still using the source code and the overall structure is likely the same, hence it being a remaster

I will love to play this. I'm more open minded, the original is the original and is a masterpiece, maybe this "remaster" will serve as a form of reboot for Capcom and start fresh with a new storyline (and timeline) with a rebooted Dead Rising 2 and continue with Frank story and not other protagonist, let's see. After DR4 is the best idea (and yeah, Dead Rising 1 is so perfect that this remaster was the best idea to "reboot" the franchise).

The remaster's brightness is blown out if you look at the sky, while everything that is located in a shadows beneath has its detail crushed in the gloom. Everything is either too bright or too dark. Horrible contrast. You can barely even see what the mall looks like.

Not sure why the remasters mall parking lots are filled with trees. They should have also made the sun shining on the mall entrance like the original did.

rewatching the trailer along with this comparison video. they definitely made Frank a bit too older, even though his deluxe model is suppose to be a nod to the beta version of Frank. but the scenery and environments so far look promising and definitely noticeable compared to its original version. definitely curious to see how the mall's interior is gonna look.

To everyone wanting the old voice actor, please understand that it is highly unlikely he will return. He has stated that he was done with the series years ago. luckily it should be easy to mod his voice in if they haven't changed the lines too much.

Someone definitely has to make mod where they add T.J Rotolo's voice back because this new VA sucks, praying that the script is the same 🙏🏾

The ones who say they don't care about the voice acting can STFU. WE, the fans, do care. So stop writing us off like we don't matter. If you don't care, then why the hell are you people commenting in the first place. TJ Rotolo is Frank. Period.

If they changed his voice and kept all the original voice work, that would be very jarring. I played the original too many times. I assume it's all or nothing. Everyone will be replaced. The right appropriate reactions and comments could bring an original voice track back. I also think they are calling this a remaster publicly instead of a remake has to do with new art layers seemingly put directly over the original. I have never seen any remade game look so perfectly aligned to the original in this comparison video. Game mechanics will be exactly the same. I'll be surprised if the AI survivors will be any better, and I will be mind blown if the prisoners in the vehicle show up every night again.
