The cool thing is that MGS 2 and 3 still hold up really well today. MGS 1 is going to look breathtaking. Playing a full on remake of that game with clear visuals is going to be such a crazy experience.

4:28 Grass moves as the soldier is moving through it in original but doesnt in the remake. This detail also applies to smaller animals. Like you can see grass moving when snake(the animal) is crawling through it. I hope they will eventually improve it in the remake until it releases.

Visually it's pretty much perfect. I think where it might fail is with all the little quirks and attention to detail the original had regarding gameplay / AI

gameplay/ai wise it will be mgs5 2.0 probably, which would make sense, this game is kinda of a "sequel" of it, you cant go back and ignore the last iteration of the saga if making a new metal gear, remake or not doesnt matter.

@@Spillow-C it's other engine tho, so I don't know. they could have stayed with fox engine which is the most optimized engine I've seen in my lfe, but they choose to go with UE5. Graphicly, it's looking perfect, better imposible. as far as optimization goes, I think it will be fine, since it doenst have much open areas (Expect if they want to remove loading screens). Gameplay feels very close to the original but improved, lets see...

@@JohnnyBoyBlues there are way better engines like RE Engine for example its leagues better. fox engine is not that great, MGS5 is even locked at 60 and PES looked like crap with it, and if you unlock frames in mgs5 with some file edit it doesnt give amazing performance at all. based on some rumors too it was hard to work with it, they had some problems, maybe Kojima and his team were able to kinda use it, but the new team was like "screw this, lets just use UE becasue its way less annoying and stuff"

I just feel like that this is a game I'll restart right after finishing it and then just replay it over and over and over...

That honestly seems like it's just not implemented yet. Ya gotta remember they haven't even given us a release date so there's tons of polishing and work left to be done. Have to wait and see but im sure it'll come. This is a early build of the game got to keep that in mind seeing footage. Work in progress means work in progress lol.

Can't wait for Twin Snakes in MGS Master Collection Vol 2. Hardly anyone has actually played it. It's always been a great remake to me. Kojima's true vision of MGS1 now the hardware was their to achieve it with the GC. Pretty sure the producer for Twin Snakes is the guy working on this remake and worked on Portable Ops also.

I know it's popular to crap on Twin Snakes, and while I do see why purists would take issue with some of its changes, I personally feel the the upgraded visuals and gameplay mechanics make it my preferred version. It's honestly tough to go back to the original while knowing a 'better' version exists. Also, the redone voice acting in Twin Snakes is seemingly 'canon', as the same VA's and dialects from Twin Snakes were the ones used in MGS4. Ironically, MGS4 still chose to use footage of the PS1 game for flashbacks instead of Twin Snakes.

This tech was used in multiple games in the past for example Battlefield Vietnam game, when you prone and be in First person mode the the grass will be transparent, it's not a glitch

Silent Hill actually looks like a 'true' from the ground-up remake, whereas MGS3 seems more like a greatly enhanced remaster of the 3DS version (akin to Metroid Prime Remastered). That being said, the re-usage of assets for MGS3 may or may not wind up being the better choice versus Silent Hill 2 - especially if Bloober Team really messes up the gameplay/story/voice acting, etc. At least we know MGS3 will be almost exactly the same game, voice acting and all, so while it may seem 'lazier' than redoing the whole game from scratch, at least we know it can't be *worse* than the original game.

Im honestly very impressed with how this remake is coming along....now we need MGS , I really hated that gamecube remake ...cant wait to see that young skinny Solid Snake cleaned shaved / short hair in full HD glory!!

Which is odd as we are talking about the wacky MGS franchise here. Twin Snakes was on point for what MGS is. And I have Twin Snakes on GC. I'd like not to have to play it on GC and play it on PS5. The grass doesn’t have physics when you crawl in first-person anymore. It’s just phases out.

Está fantástico esse remake.

The original lawn feels more realistic like it's moving with animation and remake lawn feels more transparent like you go through it with no animation but I guess it would be too much work since they added new types of plants. But the remake looks great without a doubt.

Just remember this fact. Mgs3 was not designed for over the shoulder cam. Its no different to playing mgs1 with first person aim eg twin snakes.

Looks very great but Snake's mullet is cut too short to the point it doesn't even look like mgs3 mullet. Feels more like mgs4. I'm glad they kept the og actors and art direction. Don't want them to reimagine and ruin things.

I prefer the strong visual style of the original. Realism is cool and all, but it loses something. And it just becomes more dense and difficult to parse sometimes as well. Games are this incredible medium where you have total control over the visuals. Striving for realism for realism's sake is shortsighted imo. My eyes just prefer looking at the simple, clean, smooth textures of the original. You can't say that they don't have different vibes, and admitting that means you admit that people will have a preference. The dense fog of the original. The lighting bloom. The simple geometry. It's clean and oppressive. Games don't need to look real to be beautiful and evoke something. In fact I'd argue that realism evokes less.

pues en el minuto 6:15 el original hace gestos con la boca al apuntar al soldado mientras el remake ni la mueve espero que arreglen eso y que solo sea un error solo para darnos un trailer temprano porque como venga con esos detallitos van a ver muchos errores

This is the only way to continue the franchise without Kojima. Faithful remakes might be a great oportunity to revive and expand the games. This looks great, I hope it succeeds and we get MGS1/2, and SH1/3.

The legacy filter is better but still doesn't look as good as the original. Seems like it needs more bloom and other post processing effects. They also need to improve facial expressions. The original at 4:15 for example is so much better.

I mean maybe the graphical updates are the reason for that. Different engine means the way light affects the environments is different too. I’m sure they tried their best. Also the face animations look good. OG MGS3 just looks more animated and cartoony because of the graphics.

@@cyberbron2077 Idk man, I've seen the Pachinko cutscenes and they looked better than this imo. About the lighting, I think they could just include the bloom on the Legacy filter. Still, it's not bad by any means, it's just I don't like the art style that much. I hope they release this on PC so at least I can mod it to my taste.

This does not look too bad, but in my opinion they should've remaked Peace Walker instead. It kinda looked like a 2004 game, even though it was released 2010. They could've done so many things with those boss battles and online features they once had there.

peacewalker is a psp release and not a vital chapter of the saga, the next one should be "Metal Gear Solid"

However, I think it would make much more sense for them to remake the original Metal Gear, it's baffling how it hasn't been remade at all

That would be a dumb move. Nobody but only MGS fans care about that one. They need to start with the strongest title and that was either MGS1 or 3, once they gather attention and a good amount of fans back to the saga they can release all the other games.

Silent Hill 2 looks nothing like the original. Need those same cutscenes same style, same voices and not turning into some action game. And FF7’s story seems to be completely rewritten. this is gonna be a proper remake.

All UE5 run bad and are plagued with issues that takes months to fix. This game will be no exception.

The swaying grass when Snake moves in it is incredible for PS2. In the remake the effect is reduced
