The thing about The Unknown's menu music that really stands out to me is that it is just noise, but the noise is being made by actual instruments its like a really, REALLY crude attempt to make music, and it fits the killer perfectly the way its a crude attempt to look and act human, the music really embodies that perfectly

Ngl this comment made me appreciate the theme more. I listen to the theme before seeing anything from the killer’s themselves. So my “Wtf is this” went from a “This is something else” 😂. Context is everything I suppose.

You know you're in for a horror show when the menu theme sounds like the band is being murdered with their own instruments while recording

The fact all instruments are out of tune on purpose makes it even better for an horror game. Doesn't even sound like DBD if it wasn't for the Dies Irae melodie

I love how Unknown tryes to imitate human visuals and sound, yet it seems to have little to no understanding of what is humanity. His theme sounds like twisted imitation too. Cosmic horror stuff here, very difficult genre to do properly. Great job.

Finally some more HORROR is being added to the HORROR game.

I like this a lot actually. Very creepy and reminds me of Resident Evil Village a bit. One of the better menu themes that has released recently imo

Everything in the promo material screamed Skinwalker so to see that the killers essentially just a crooked man that’s being piloted by an alien definitely rubbed some people the wrong way. That doesn’t mean people hate the chapter though. In fact I think most people can agree that it’s already great. I personally love the design of the killer, map, and survivor (which is really rare for me) however I’d be lying if I said I preferred this over a Skinwalker, Wendigo, or even a Fleshgait.

Definetly love that the Unknown is like an animal, acting on predatory instincts. It just has a very high intelligence, and while it mimics its victims, its prey wont fall for it. Like a parrot speaking, its obvious its not real.

it’s not meant to be a fun theme, the killer is a disembodied horror that disguised as people it kills, using their voice and body as a disguise. the music just resembles the pure horror of the unknown, with the uncanny music matching the uncanny look of him. it’s also as if the chord progressions are UNKNOWN, and are having trouble being found, with that being the same for the unknown himself

Anyone with more than 2 brain cells could easily identify and say that this is the worst killer theme in dead by daylight. Nobody, I mean NOBODY wants to listen to this ear bleeding sound while waiting to queue into a match. As long as this theme still exists, It will be the worst killer theme by far. Nobody would choose random sounds over actual music. So if you are that type of person, don't bother replying to me. Your music taste is horrible and is not worth my while.
