De Bethune DB28 T Tourbillon REVIEW

Instagram @stevehallock. Get more info about this watch and many others at www.ticktocking.com where I curate a selection of the coolest watches in the world available for sale, as well as write about watches and the industry.
I'll be regularly posting these candid looks at some of the coolest watches in the world. Highly edited photos and brand videos are cool to learn about a watch, but I find that a candid, low production HD video is the best way to really get a sense of what a watch is like "in the metal". I want to try to give people a true idea of what these horological wonders are actually like and why people like me are nuts over them.

Smith and Voutilainen make some decent pieces as well. Possibly not as innovative, but certainly well-finished. Also, Christian Klings made a 10 second tourbillon for the wrist a while back. Definitely a fan of DB though.

The 25 series is stunning. However, I cannot get over the star trek badge on the 28 models.

i dont know about other top brands, but rolex makes everything in house, they even have their own refinery to make their metal.(the only component that isnt in house made should be its glass)

Hi An Sung, most of top brands do not making their balance wheel by and spring by their own. The reason for Rolex did is because Rolex makes more than 1 million of watches per year, so they are making their all the parts in house rather than get from other brands is the way actually much reducing their cost of watchmaking. But some small independent watcher making less than 100 watches per year, and the costs for design new balance wheel or spring and producing those parts in very small number are costing very high price. So this is reason why DB did great job in this point.

V P rolex is actually a high brand. its a level below petak, vacheron. but its not 'toyota'. rolex's case finishing is equal or even better than top level brand, its movement isnt best decrorated, but more accurate and stable than top brand, it do well for 15 years without maintainance. rolex's antique piece are sold at very high and stable price. Daytona is a legend, needless to say, every watch collector needs one. rolex is like GTR, its much cheaper than top brand like ferrari, but it perform better sometimes anf definately comparable.

V P you dont know anything about watchmaking, rolex beats every watch slightly below petak's level, in term's of case and movement, especially the ETAs. i dont know why you are cynical about this brand, turn a blind eye on true. rolex doesnt have grande complication because its not competing with them on higher market, that is almost saturated. its sold more than any other watch, why would it want to move up?

V P rolex is the best watch under 15k, its case quaility and movement precision/stability/endurance transcend that level. and it is sold THE most in net revenue, not in number of piece. i dont know how many greubel forsey you have (i bet its 0, and you dont have a above 15k watch just because you sounds like a trigger sport's fan, not a claim watch enthusiast), but even the most serious watch collector collect rolex and other watch above that level. i never say its better than these watch, but its the best amount 15k- watches

V P you are a 15 yo who dont have any decency at all. you dont fit to talk about watches, and you will never own a 20k+ watch till your last moment, goodbye.
