Thank you for taking the time to make this lesson on bomb delivery in the DCS P-47 for us.

The red T-handles are for emergency jettisons, not for weapon employment (although if the bomb is armed it still works). This is why the red T-handles are in all versions of the DCS P-47, regardless of which armament panel is in the plane. In the P-47D-30 you were flying, the armament panel is right in front of the flight stick with red covered toggle switches. You select which pylon you want, and then hit the pickle button.

Fantastic videos, thank you for teaching some finer technique.

Love seeing more DCS content! I'm hoping it'll draw some of the IL2 crowd over!

I see this and go "ah yeah, that's straight forward enough" and then try it and hit nothing. Or the ground. Sometimes I hit the ground...

The flak is crazy tho. It feels like they have radar guided anti aircraft guns. Sometimes I feel like I have to dive in fast as hell to bomb, and egress from the German 88 flak like a mad man.

Yeah the flak is super accurate even when trying to maneuver. Sometimes it just has your number, but at least the Jug can handle a big hit or two

Great video as always! I have a TrackIR and was curious how you got your head tracker set up to see outside along the fuselage. I have tried every setting and just can't seem to get it. Thanks in advance!

CTRL F4 is an outside view near the fuselage I think

And you bag a train to boot. Do you turn off the gyro on the gun sight, or is it just a matter of holding a steady flight path?

how do you get the gyro gun sight to move? I can't seem to find out how.

A very smooth and repeatable technique. @Requiem, I was wondering, did you devise these bombing procedures or are these procedures that P-47 pilots were tought during WW2?

I always try and use techniques that the actual pilot's used. The only ground attack I've shown that is one I created is the "Foolproof Luftwaffe dive bombing" video. This one for the P-47 is similar to the wing line technique I've shown in the Il-2 P-51 because I had the special skin made to illustrate it. I haven't seen a proper "wing line" skin in P--47 for DCS , so I provided an approximate starting position using the machine guns as a reference. @@RequiemsACTL Very interesting. Thanks for the pdf, I'll have a read. It's great when the historical procedures work in game as well, it gives us 21st century gamers a glimpse of what reality was for some WW2 pilots (on some very specific aspects).

It was on by default, but it's toggled using R SHIFT+P if I remember right

The problem with the P-47 is we have to fly it in an unrealistic environment. When doing ground attack we would expect to have good fighter cover and a lack of opposition, but usually it's the other way around so it suffers terribly in multiplayer.

@@RequiemsACTL Let's make late war games more historically accurate, it has to be 10 allies per german and half the german pilots are very green.

Before diving, do you set the rpm lever to full or minimum?

Just have it set about 2500. No need to increase RPM and MP until your recovering from the dive.

P-47 has a constant speed prop. Unless you're power diving to very high airspeeds there should be no need to pull back the RPM

@@RequiemsACTL The P-47 uses a radial engine, you should pull the RPM back when diving, or keep some manifold pressure. The engine can fail very quickly if its being windmilled. You can test this out very easily.

What's altitude AGL? I'm assuming that it mean altitude relative to sea level or relative to the ground but I obviously don't know.

AGL = Above Ground Level (Height) while MSL = Mean Sea Level (Altitude)
