    Wow, that's one sophisticated tutorial. Saw a lot of things I never saw addressed in other tutorials, like the timer functions and the express access to the MK and TGT points. This plane is so heavily underrated. The more complete it gets, the more it impresses me how good it is integrated into the CAS/ground attack role. 😍

    This was perfect. I've been watching your Harrier tutorials repeatedly and taking notes as I go, it's honestly a massive help so thank you for putting in the time and effort for us dummies! I haven't flow in DCS for quite some time, having been rather preoccupied with IL-2 and having fun with the warbirds. I've had an itch to fly the Harrier again though, but never got to grips with her systems to any reliable degree. Sometimes I think it was bugs, others me not getting the procedure down quite right. Hopefully that'll change after spending some time practicing in her.

    The harrier has an unusual workflow when compared with other NATO aircraft, although there are also some bugs still in the RAZBAM implementation. Getting better all the time though and I think it's already in a great state.

    Outstanding, thank you so much. This is the best video for showing the Navigation capabilities of the module which it has to be said are excellent.

    Great video! Very nicely explained. I do have a couple of questions though. Have you been able to get the TTT/TOT function to work correctly? Whenever I try to use it the initial command speed is really low then creeps up to silly high speeds. Also, have you checked the Tacan offset function? It seems that its bugged. On the Caucasus map I have to add 12 degrees to the bearing to get the correct radial that I want for the offset. 3rdly, the CRUS VREST page seems bugged too. On the ACR column It said you would have 2000 lbs remaining but your fuel was 7000 lbs and the waypoint was 24 mls away. It doesnt make sense. The OPCR numbers seemed better.

    Thanks for the compliments sir! I regularly use the TTT/TOT settings and haven't had too much trouble with it. I've only ever used waypoint offsets not TACAN ones so couldn't comment but I'll certainly have a go in the next few days. Same for the CRUS page, will report back.

    Great video, and I learned a few things I did not know. However, you didn't cover the ability to manually move waypoint positions, which is something I believe you can do (and I'm not talking about the waypoint offset which you did cover).

    Thanks! You're right slewing waypoints is a feature of the EHSD. I actually did originally film some content on this but ended up cutting it due to the length of the video. I have been thinking of putting in a addendum with stuff like this as there was a bunch of other stuff that I left out too.

    Nice one! If I enter a desired TOT for e.g. WP4, will it calculate the commanded speed for a direct to WP4 or via the route of the preceding WPs 1-3? In the Hornet it does, but I am not sure how the Harrier works in that regard.

  • @deephack

    Good question, I would suspect that it is calculating a direct route speed but will need to test.

    Is NSEQ functional now? There was a time when it worked fine (although I did not fully understand how to use it properly), then it started to cause crashes and I forgot about it. Will there be separate tutorial for non-sequential route mode?

    Pretty sure the DME call out is "distance measuring equipment" and common in naval aircraft in DCS (and civil aviation with VOR). And I believe the units are nautical miles. In a flight I just did, it sure looked like it was nautical miles as well. Am I missing something?

  • @deephack

    @deephack

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes that's correct, DME can be associated with TACAN, VOR or ADF radio navigation sources which have been equipped with DME. The units in the harrier are always nautical miles.

    Any idea how to get the Mark position back to marking the position of the jet after using the targeting pod? It seems to want to mark where the targeting pod is looking rather than where the aircraft is. Thanks !

    nice video's! When I select the DATA page the waypoints start automatically slewing and the corresponding GPS coordinates rapidly change too. What could be causing this? thanks

  • @deephack

    @deephack

    Sounds like your TDC is set to an axis which is not centered. In INS mode when you go to the data page you have the ability to slew your waypoints. Sounds like this is what you are describing.

    @@deephack Yes, I'm pretty sure that was it, thanks! I saw a video where the F6 view was stopped at a certain height above the target before it hit. I was able to achieve this using the Lctrl+F11 command. Do you know if there's another way to stop following the weapon at a certain point in F6 view?

    @@deephack It seems to want to kill me, as soon as I engage it in level flight it either wants to climb or dive, so I fight it and regain level flight it seems to work, until the next time I try and use it and it does the same again only worse, also in the process destroys my trim settings ! It may have something to do with my warthog stick which has no springs in it. Added to that when I bring up the controls indicator I can see it twitching the trim erratically.
