Installation has slight variances for R1S. Here is my feedback: 1). All torx screws are reused. When you take off the torx for the triangle bracket, put the torx back in with half inch gap. 2). No extra screws provided or needed. 3). Leave the 6th hex bolt and remove the 7th hex bolt. Leave the last hex bolt near the rear wheel in place. 4). Open the front and rear doors to make the slide into place easier. You also get a good view of the tight fit on top. 5). Two people to slide the rock slider on make the job much easier. 6). The impact wrench is a must. If you have a 1/2 inch impact wrench, then you need the 3/8 adapter for the provided T55.

Piggybacking on your comment. Things i learned installing on R1S: 1) outside of the first 2 T55s, all of the T55 torx will be used to hang the rock slider during installation, which means you should reinsert the bracket ones after removing the bracket 2) if solo installing, i used a box to rest the slider on and slid it under my R1S, and with both doors open you can see the T55s hanging so it was easy to mount/hang them
These look fantastic - ordering!
Great video and excellent engineering.

Thank you!!
I just semi-successfully installed the sliders. They look awesome! But if you follow the instructions, you’re left with 4 of the big T55 bolts unused. Then you realize two of them go on the front eyes, but you’ll inevitably have to loosen everything to align them. Then you’ll see you could’ve used the final two (which came from the brackets), but it’s too late now. Oh well.
Love my sliders but when installing them a lot of the holes were off. Took me a lot more work to grind out the holes so the bolts would line up.
Nice work. Good design. A couple of questions please. 1. What's the loss of ground clearance? It's probably not much but it's gotta be a little. 2. Is the install the same for a truck with the factory underbelly shield?

Hey there!! @ryumoto To answer your questions: 1. there is no loss in ground clearance! We specifically designed the rockslider to be completely flush with the underside of the body. 2. That is correct! If anything, the sliders compliment the underbelly shield and give you even more protection!

@@directcurrentengineering9023 thanks for confirming!
Just curious, does anyone know the bolt size for these bolts? M12x1.75x50? What about the hex bolts? I’m asking because it’s in the shop now getting wrapped and I’m thinking about getting security bolts to mount them in order to prevent/deter theft. Any other ideas about security? Maybe something to block/secure the through holes to prevent those bolts from being easily accessed/removed?
Any install difference for R1T with reinforced underbody protection?
The installation video is fantastic. Where can I see pictures of these on the truck?

what is the point of the bracket between the front and back, why not just have one continuous plate?
7:10 Installing now and ran into an issue… there is no spot for the supplied bolts on my R1T with underbody protection. What do I do?

To answer the question about torque specs for the bolts I did have a small piece of paper with my set that says the torque specs: -TP55: 95 FT-LBS -Hex Bolts: 55 FT-LBS
Does it void the warranty?
How many 10mm sockets do I need to prepare for this project. Ive only lost 9 this week.
Does the sliders completely cover the area that the stock plastic panel cover?
Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately video didn’t show the fully installed slider from the bottom. Just to make sure, the plastic panels you removed don’t get reinstalled and the sliders cover the entire space correct?

Hey there, the plastic covers do not get reinstalled. and the sliders do cover that area.
Anyone find a comparison between these and the ev sportline offering?

Is this the same instruction for the factory under body shield? And how far do they extend from the rocker panel?
@directcurrentengineering9023

Hey there! That is correct, its the same process with the body shield. They reach up to the battery tray. The sliders will not interfere with the underbody shield.
nice! I have a question, after you install the rock slider, can the water go inside under the bottom of the truck after the covers were removed?

Hey Dave!! The water will not go inside the bottom of the truck! Our sliders are designed to cover that entire area.

Thanks for sharing. I’m not sure if I missed it from the video. Will the rock slider cover up the rivian jacking point / nipple area? If so, how and where to jack up the rivian with the rock slider? Thank you in advance.
@directcurrentengineering9023

Hey there David! Our sliders are designed to work with any conventional jack and work on a lift as well! They don't cover the jacking points. Here is the part in the video that explains the jacking points. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3-rk9mqkquYqbg.html

Will Rivian Service staff require me to remove the sliders if they need to lift my truck?
@directcurrentengineering9023
Жыл бұрын
@@RichardMillet-RM On the R1T, our rock sliders do not block the OEM lifting points at all (front or rear). On the R1S the rear OEM lifting point must be covered to ensure the strongest slider design. We provided an identical lifting hole for the rear location built into the sliders (shown in the image). The dealer will have no issues lifting either the R1T or R1S with their proprietary lifting points. We've had an R1T and R1S fitted with our rock sliders in for dealer service without issue.
Hmmm. The supplied TP55 but doesn’t fit my truck. Im an early VIN, so maybe they changed it at some point.

The video mentions installing the two supplied bolts, but doesn’t make it obvious at all where these get installed. I don’t see any holes where these would fit so I’m a bit stuck in my installation. Is it possible the specs changed (our R1T is from June 2023) 7:11 There were also no washers supplied which is mentioned in the video.

@kevinrailsback

@@Bahndit ah yeah I reached out after I posted here, and they let me know that only early models had those holes, so you can safely skip them. Once you get the clip rails and such removed it becomes pretty obvious where everything goes. One hint I can give you is to put blue tape on the specific bolts it mentions you don’t need to remove. That way you don’t remove them and leave one next to them and then you can’t slide the rock sliders on. Made that mistake on the first one. :)

@@kevinrailsback Thanks for responding Kevin! I got them installed and I am really happy with the end result. Thank you for saving me the time of not having to reach out to DCE about the extra bolts. They really should add a note to their video to let other buyers know that the extra bolts are not needed.
There is no glovebox in Rivian))
At $2,450.00+taxes the tweak, I'd at the very least expect not to have to see with a 3rd-party logo every time I enter my $90k vehicle.
