I just semi-successfully installed the sliders. They look awesome! But if you follow the instructions, you’re left with 4 of the big T55 bolts unused. Then you realize two of them go on the front eyes, but you’ll inevitably have to loosen everything to align them. Then you’ll see you could’ve used the final two (which came from the brackets), but it’s too late now. Oh well.
@PatrickSavage-zz2mc3 ай бұрын
Installation has slight variances for R1S. Here is my feedback: 1). All torx screws are reused. When you take off the torx for the triangle bracket, put the torx back in with half inch gap. 2). No extra screws provided or needed. 3). Leave the 6th hex bolt and remove the 7th hex bolt. Leave the last hex bolt near the rear wheel in place. 4). Open the front and rear doors to make the slide into place easier. You also get a good view of the tight fit on top. 5). Two people to slide the rock slider on make the job much easier. 6). The impact wrench is a must. If you have a 1/2 inch impact wrench, then you need the 3/8 adapter for the provided T55.
@lowres30232 ай бұрын
Piggybacking on your comment. Things i learned installing on R1S: 1) outside of the first 2 T55s, all of the T55 torx will be used to hang the rock slider during installation, which means you should reinsert the bracket ones after removing the bracket 2) if solo installing, i used a box to rest the slider on and slid it under my R1S, and with both doors open you can see the T55s hanging so it was easy to mount/hang them
