Our teacher grades on the old rubric because she says if we're used to a more difficult dbq the actual one wont be as hard

My teacher always recommends that if you have the time try and mention all of them, can't go wrong but if your running short then go with the minimum.

If my teacher has been teaching us the whole year to use all 6-7 docs, would I get points taken off on the ap exam if I still do that? I’m scared I’m gonna have to write my essays now differently😭

You shouldn’t, like the other commenter said it will help with complexity and it will also help in case you happen to misinterpret or misuse one of the sources.

Hello Mr. Heimler. My APUSH teacher has yet to have us write a DBQ and we’ve only written an LEQ once (in September to be precise). I know the test is 2 weeks away. Other than our period 2 test for the LEQ, we have not written any other essay questions. Am I gonna fail this test?

Evaluate the extent to which the dbq has changed in the period of 2000-2024

I’m so mad, I took ap world last year. Why is it so much easier now 😢 we had to put in a way more work.

2 pieces of evidence minimum now. And you can get the complexity point if you can use 4 pieces.

It’s the same thing just easier now. You don’t need to use as much evidence for the dbq and leq plus getting the complexity point is so much easier. Make sure to take a look at it before the exam and learn it to maximize those points

I've heard that quite a bit... But the good news is that if the 7-doc rubric is what you've been practicing with, then the national exam will be a piece of cake

@@heimlershistory that’s true also, thank you I’ll be extra prepared. Also question, is extra analysis on 3 of the documents still required? My teacher uses that rubric too, and I’m really bad at it so I just wanted to know.
