Who is Noted By Nicky?
Kia ora & hey there! My name is Nicky and I am a Medical Student at the University of Auckland, NZ. I am also a University of Otago graduate, where I majored in Physiology. I'm super excited to share some of my passions with you; medicine, health, fitness and good times! What do these all have in common? Science! I believe that science is not just for people who enjoy lab coats but should be readily accessible for the wider public since science governs almost everything that we do; from fitness and health all the way up to public policy. I've noticed that so much information is exclusive and I want to bring about inclusivity through this channel. I will be putting a spotlight on current scientific literature, empowering people through nutrition and exercise, discussing relevant social issues, & having a pretty darn good time !! Join me in my journey to note it all down :)

This was so interesting to watch, thanks for the great vlog!! I’m currently only in year 13 but wanting to go do mbchb in the future, Can I ask if you got to med school by doing healthsci/biomed first yr or did you get in by the graduate entry ? And if you did do biomed/healthsci what did you think of it in terms of busyness ? Because I heard it’s very hectic which is kinda scaring me !!

Hey Nasywa! Thanks for reaching out and great to hear that you're interested in a career in medicine. For myself I entered medical school through biomed first year and Nicky did it by graduate entry. In terms of the workload, being straight out honest to you - yes it is very hectic and if you want a reasonable chance of securing a place in the MBChB programme then you will likely be studying more than every other year of your life combined in just that one year (unless you're extremely efficient, with perfect study techniques). But it is definitely doable and it is a very rewarding career. If you have any other enquiries feel free to shoot me a DM on instagram and I'm happy to give advice in any way - or even make a quick video talking about my journey through first year premed!!

@@HarryTheAdventurer thank you so much for the reply!! :D a video about your pre-med year would be very informative so students like me can be wary of what to expect. including a small bit of how you got into biomed too, would help guide us lots !!
