Her smile is perfect for being a doctor. Other than it being a beautiful smile it's also calming and reassuring. I think her face in general shows that she's a very caring person who loves being a doctor and is thrilled to be able to help someone in need. Personally if i was waiting for doctor, (which means I'm not having the best of days) and she walked in it would definitely brighten up my day. Even if it's only slightly it's a big deal because in those types of situation positivity goes a long way. It's great to see doctors like her, I've witnessed several times where doctors just seem careless and is only there to collect a paycheck. Some doctor are so bad they couldn't pick out a patient from a line up even if they checked out that patient less than an hour ago. All because they spend more time looking at the charts and whatnot without consulting with the patient.

My mom had a heart attack 4ish years ago and I thought nothing of it because her complications were so minor. I didn't realize how lucky she was until my manager 3 years later had 4 heart attacks in succession. 3 mild followed by one MAJOR one. Because my dad brought my mom in immediately (despite my mom saying she's fine) she got out on meds and it fixed the heart attack and prevented others and didn't even need a stint. Thinking about how she probably would've died if my dad hadn't done something (because she wouldn't have tried to go until it was too late, I know it) is scary. I'm so grateful your dad was able to survive with an amazing team of doctors. They really do save lives

I'm a med student and sometimes after days upon days of examinations, I just go to 'okay, I've suffered enough, I'm getting ONE day off' and I watch videos like this and it reminds me that learning should have no "breaks". Resting is definitely deserved but we really owe it to our patients to 'know' well. Happy to see an enthusiastic doctor like you 💕. Gives me a jolt back into my reality/dream. Thank you! 💕

interview the patient, examine the patient, tell the patient the plan and answer any questions. Write out orders/let the nurses know what you want done. Call any subspecialist consults you may need. Document your note in the computer.

I now have celiac disease and it all started with abdominal pain and upset stomach’s etc. The doctors refused to see me, and it got to the point where I was screaming in pain on the toilet and didn’t know. I had a blood test in the end because I decided I wanted one, just confused at why they hadn’t thought of it. Now I’ve ruined my small intestine lining. And I’m so glad we have doctors like you! Keep doing what you do - your saving lives, I’d love to be seen by you :)

I hate when a doctor thinks they know more about a disease I've had for years because of what they were just taught in school which contradicts my own experience especially when they have never seen a patient with that condition. It's like how could they think they know better than a paitent. I think drs need to approach each patient as if they are going to learn some thing or write a paper from what they learn as opposed to a bistow their previous all knowing knowledge. I learn new things every time i read a medical case from new symptoms to new solutions or diseases that may be connected or come together with the original. I guess my point is to be a student of medicine rather than assuming they are the all knowing teacher.

I have to agree not all doctors but most. I have at 38 pretty bad arthritis and fibromyalgia and my experience is I’m told “ your to young for arthritis” really apparently not because I have it...next my least favourite “learn to live with it” or just exercise when some days it’s a struggle just to do what I need to do and loss weight you will be fine, but than I’m given meds that don’t work, with terrible side effects and make me gain weight....

I don’t want to be in the video, but one thing doctors do that I don’t like as a patient is when they come into your room when you are in the hospital and you are totally out of it and not feeling well and on medications that make you loopy and they don’t introduce themselves to tell you who they are and they don’t tell you what is going on/how they plan to treat you. They just make you wait around all day for them wondering what is going on and when they are going to come and see you. I also don’t like when doctors are arrogant and are not relatable to their patients.

Katherine Brenner I volunteer at a hospital and we actually have a procedure in place to make patients feel less anxiety where we basically knock, introduce ourselves, why we're there etc. even for small tasks like bringing them a bottle of water.

Katherine Brenner doctors have more important things to do than formalities, im not sure if this is the case in the us but the doctor to patient ratio is unreal, its difficult for a doctor to handle so many requests and needs and complaints! i was an intern at a public hospital once, it angers me how some patients think doctors and nurses are only there to serve them
