Remember those days fondly, although I am 20 yrs removed now or so. People have no idea how hard it is to be a college athlete. I hate to admit it, but even graduating with a useful Bachelors degree, I have found most recruiters more interested in my college athletics background because of how well it trains young folks on discipline.

Holy shit good for this guy super productive and clean lifestyle learning and growing. Kudos.
Nice video! For me rather emotional given I’ve had many battles at the “UNF nest” on those very courts. Played my last college match there against UNF!All the best with your tennis and life after!
I did a UNF tennis camp this summer and met some of the girls team. It was super cool. Great video!

This seems like such a vibe. I just started playing tennis for my school a month ago and I'm in freshman year so it seems like a nice environment. The sport is very competitive but apparently I'm pretty good for a beginner so I hope I can make it to the big leagues.

he can do anything if he keeps on doing this. Fingers crossed!
damn this shows the difference between d3 and d1 tennis. I got recruited at some d1 schools but chose to go to a top academics d3 school and at recruiting was a high 10 low 11 utr range. The training is so less intense for tennis, academics is at the d3 school is just depression i'm ngl
The dream lifestyle
I really hope I can make it D1 one day. I just graduated a 7.5utr and have 2 more years until I might play at a university. Any tips would be super helpful! I play for nearly 5 hours a day except for Sunday but I just don’t feel like I have what it takes right now. The sport is so competitive but I love it.
@UServe-College-Tennis

You can do it! Enjoy the process. 5 hours a day is a lot. Don’t overplay 😊
@Seronns
Жыл бұрын
You can do it. D1 has a very large spectrum from top of the line schools to the smaller D1 conferences like the one I played in (America East 20 yrs ago). Don't just practice *hitting* the ball, but also play as many practice sets/tiebreaks as you can. Nothing can replace match play and the stress it provides (stress is good). Also- become a student of the game, not just a practice player. What I mean by that is, don't just look good hitting the ball, but understand why you hit the shots you hit. Like in chess, play 2-3 shots ahead in every point. As you get really good at this, you'll see the game start coming to you a lot easier.
Loved that Berlin flag. Good luck man

@UServe-College-Tennis
11 ай бұрын
In season we have two weekly one-hour S&C sessions. In the off-season, we have three one-hour S&C sessions. Our S&C coach provides us with exercises for four weeks, in which we increase and decrease weight and reps. The exercises cover the whole body (arms, legs, back, abs, etc.) I hope that helps you.
Super cool video! Just curious, during the offseason do you ever switch to multiple hits a day outside of just the morning sessions?
@UServe-College-Tennis

Yes I do! It really depends on my tournament schedule during the off-season.
Interesting video mate. 2 questions: did you hit every day? When/If you got tennis elbow how did you rehab it?

Almost. In season, after matches, we typically had a day off. In the fall we had at least one day off a week. I've never had a tennis elbow.

@UServe-College-Tennis
2 ай бұрын
In the video, I am using the Wilson Blade 18x20 V8. I have never hit more than 5 minutes with a Babolat racket, so I don't really have an opinion. However, as long as you feel comfortable, it is a great choice. The two most important things to improve your game, in my opinion, are consistency, and focusing on the process instead of being results-driven. Good luck!

My daughter runs D1 for Creighton University. 2 to 3 times a week they run at 5 am. That means that she gets up at 4, as they have to have a mile in and their stretching done before practice begins. They generally also have weight training in the evening. It is a real school academically, and their mens and women's Cross Country teams had the highest cumulative GPA in the country. In D1, you must also work on your homework in the study lounge, under the supervision of professional tutor teachers, eight hours a week. At some schools the profs are told to let the athletes slide by, but at real universities, this isn't allowed.
